This past season I played with whatever 3-packs I had laying around the house.  (Tommy Armour Torch, Top Flight XL2000, ect..)

I'm looking to work on my game and stick with 1 for the time being.

I shoot anywhere from a 95 to a 104 usually, and see a lot of shots slicing or pushing right-Especially off the tee.

I have been looking at the Titleist DT Solo, or even the Velocity, and the Srixon Q-Star.  I have played with the Srixons but don't quite remember the performance.  Because my game is a bit inconsistent, and due to time, I don't have the time to test each type of ball out for X amount of time.

How are these balls in terms of feel around the green, and the spin?  Obviously, I wouldn't want something that will a slice even worse.

Current swing speed with a driver is 110 I believe, and with irons, 95'ish (if I remember correctly)

I don't know the stats but I just played the TM Penta TP3 yesterday for the first time and really liked it. It's fairly reasonably priced too .. I got em on sale for 2 dozen for $55.

I've heard good things about these. The local Roger Dunn's has them on sale for $19.99/dz. as they are now last years model.

In general, anything more than a $25 rock will give you more spin off the tee or irons. Until you tame your swing, I'd suggest you forget spin around the green and play for roll. As to feel, some of the balls that spin less feel better now. Something like the e6 would probably work for you - a ball that attempts to reduce sidespin.

With a 110 swingspeed, I'd probably say take a little off it and concentrate on fundamentals instead of swinging so fast. Swinging fast probably leads to your slice - over the top with an open club face. If you remember that the backswing and downswing starts with the lower body, swing in that manner, and get your swing path more refined - you'll correct your issues quickly. And then you'll be asking about balls that spin around the green.

the TopFlite Gamer V2 is anything but a rock.  it can be found for $15 a dozen, or cheaper.

Have you done any comparisons between V2's and the D2 line from topflite? For some reason, V2's are really hard to come by around here whereas the D2 seems to be in every store.

Yours in earnest, Jason.

That's why I said, "In general..."

no, i havent.  i know there is a link out there somewhere for some robot testing that Golf Digest did, showing spin rates on wedge shots, but i cant find it.  it has been posted here on the ST in the past tho.

My vote is for the TF Gamer V2 balls.  Amazing ball for the money.

I will test out a sleeve of the e6, q star, and dt solo. hopefully one of those work great for me. As far as lowering swing speed, when I bought my burner 2.0s, I got fitted in a short amount if time. Basically just for feel and whether it not I was regular or stiff. We didn't go into all diff shafts. Anyways, irons are appx 96 mph and driver 108. Bad idea to have steel-stiff?
