Okay, so now I got two things in common with LeBron James. The first is we're both from Akron, and the second is I am about to relocate to Miami (I doubt any outcry coming from Cleveland over this lol). I was given an offer I couldn't refuse so in about a month I will be working in downtown Miami. Presently looking for an apartment/condo in either Coral Gables, Coconut Grove or Miami Beach.

That last one intrigues me - Miami Beach. I'm kinda digging on the idea of just driving across a bridge to get to work since my office will be about 5 blocks from the MacArthur Causeway.

So, who knows about MB? For that matter, courses in the Miami area. Yeah I know about Doral & Crandon Park (Key Biscayne), but give me some 411 on other courses. One of the condos I'm looking at has Normandy Isles Country Club as my backyard. Lemme put it this way - I am either going to look at water or a golf course out my living room window.

How about affordable memberships? I wouldn't mind joining somewhere as long as it's not crazy expensive.

Any advice would be appreciated.

That's probably because you were smart enough to NOT announce it in televised press conference. ;) I am no help because I've never been to Florida ... But "Coconut Grove" just sounds cool to me.

    • However, have you ever considered using small summer houses for such setups? They offer a great solution for creating dedicated practice areas, especially for an affluent audience looking to enhance their outdoor living space.
    • I've played Bali Hai, Bear's Best and Painted Desert. I enjoyed Bali Hai the most--course was in great shape, friendly staff and got paired in a great group. Bear's Best greens were very fast, didn't hold the ball well (I normally have enough spin to stop the ball after 1-2 hops).  The sand was different on many holes. Some were even dark sand (recreation of holes from Hawaii). Unfortunately I was single and paired with a local "member" who only played the front 9.  We were stuck behind a slow 4-some who wouldn't let me through even when the local left. Painted Desert was decent, just a bit far from the Strip where we were staying.
