wedge overkill?

For me its 44*, 49*, 54* and 58*.  IMO, today's stronger lofted irons require you to carry 4 wedges.  Having a 45* PW and then having a 56* as you sand wedge isnt going to work because its too big of a gap between clubs.

For me, having more short clubs and fewer long clubs makes more sense because inside of 100 yards is what makes or breaks your score on a given hole.

I would consider this a 3 wedge set-up for discussion purposes...44* is back into 9 iron territory.
