I'm looking at picking a set of these up as they are on sale for a pretty good price, I am currently bagging Cleveland 588 RTX CBs, but i don't think they are going make it in the bag this year. They just aren't for me. But while at GG I noticed these and the Hex grooves seemed pretty cool, so I figured I'd ask if anyone has played these and what they think.

I was going to buy the Nike wedges this year but the feel wasn't as good as the Mizuno MP T-11's. Ever tried Mizuno? Grain flow forged clubs  and the grind on them make me able to play all types of shots even with the low bounce that I like.

I was looking at the MP-T11 also because they were the same price, but I'm having trouble finding a 52*. I really liked the MP-T4s but I having trouble spending that price on new wedges when I just bought those 588s 3 months ago. There are plenty of good deals out there I should be able to find some nice wedges.

Any forged club, especially wedges just have a distinctive feel between a cast club, forged feel soft. But ping is cast and those are great clubs. Yea and having taped up wedges probably isn't gong to feel or test right but that being said

Nike irons are not even in the same league as Mizuno. Dont quote me but Mizuno quality is far superior.

That might have been true 20 years ago. Not so much anymore.

I agree, and as someone that has played Nike SV tours, Cleveland CG 14s, Vokey SM3s, Ping Ansers, Scratch 1018s, Scratch JDMs, Bridgestone J40s, and Cleveland 588 Rtx, in the last 3 seasons the feeling of forged to cast is very hard to tell. Honestly the 588s feel softer than the j40s.

In terms of softness, maybe.  In terms of consistency, nope!

You're still wrong.

What consistencies are we talking about? In club manufacturing or swing consistencies?

I think he's referring to the club. He thinks that forged wedges will have much less variation shot to shot vs. a cast club. But as has already been stated ... He's incorrect. (Trust me, iacas knows what he's talking about. Dude has a set of forged wedges and an IDENTICAL set that is cast. And he's a pro. So if he says there ain't a difference I'm gonna take his word for it)

Give Tiger the same exact nike vr pro irons and cast them and see what he thinks! Also Tigers wedges are forged. You cant buy his wedges in forged only cast.

Casting clubs creates air pockets in the metal, forging clubs its impossible to create air pockets because they are made from a sold piece of steel. Casting has become better within the last 10 years but still cannot guarantee anything. Air pockets cause inconsistency.

Can we ask lee Westwood? Mark Wilson? There are several tour pros who play cast irons ... Do they just not care about the quality of their clubs? Or perhaps are you overstating it just a pinch?

As I stated above ping makes great cast clubs. Ping has casting down to a science.
