re: the advertising aspect....I don't think I can recall one single time when I've looked at someone elses headcovers.  Even if I DID notice them, it surely wouldn't make me think "Man, I need to go buy those clubs"  because I've already got the clubs I want in my bag.

The sock headcovers look cool...I was shocked at how small they look but I guess being knit, they stretch out much bigger than expected.

My philosophy on golf "We're not doing rocket science, here."

Those are very classy looking. Reminiscent of the classic knit covers of the 60's and 70's.

Any significance to the color scheme?  Look like University of Virginia or Auburn - but seeing your location I'm guessing not.

I like the stock headcovers for the most part. I go thru phases really, sometimes I'll just swap them out for generic wool type head covers.

If you know someone who knits, Etsy has plenty of patterns. The raw materials needed to make headcovers are actually very cheap compared to buying completed headcovers.

If not, still lots of choices in Etsy.

Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

That's really nice. The colours go really well together and are pretty subtle. I'm not a big fan of the NHL cart bags out there they look really cheap and tacky but yours looks really good.

Thanks! Yeah I'm not a fan of the NHL branded cart bags.. they're pretty much garbage. When I saw this at golf town I jumped on it! Plus with their fathers day sale it was down to $199 ($269 regular) then I was able to forgo the free $25 gift card for another $25 off.

If you want the feel of having more room in your bag, check out the Club Glove head covers.  They are zippered and have a very narrow profile around the shaft.  I like using them especially in my carry bag.

Wow, I could have sworn you were just an avid Bears fan.  I was getting ready to order those for my wife.  Hell, I may still!

    • A bit of background. The Southern California Golf Association (SCGA) runs an annual event known as "Team Play." It is a wildly popular match play competition where Men's Clubs across the region put together teams of 20+ golfers together to compete against other clubs in a 16 vs. 16 match. In any given year, approximately 80-100 clubs will participate. Each club is grouped into "pods" of 4, and will play 6 total matches - one home and one away match against the other 3 clubs. The winning club from each pod advances to the Team Play Playoffs - a single elimination format - until a winner is crowned.  Antelope Valley Country Club just advanced to the championship match for the 3rd consecutive year. They won the championship in both 2022 and 2023.  Based on my review of the match history from the past 3 years (linked below), they have won 21 consecutive team matches. Keep in mind, these are handicapped matches, so this is not just a case where a group of sticks bands together to dominate the poor amateurs other SoCal clubs. Even if these guys are grinders who never quit, play their best under pressure and routinely putt the lights out, the law of averages still say that a streak of that nature is mathematically impossible.  Is there any plausible explanation beyond institutionalized sandbagging throughout the club? • Interesting that Scottie is #10 on the all time money list and he's been on the PGAT for 4 years. Of course, purses are bigger now, but  neat to look at non-the-less.  The list of top 18 money winners in PGA Tour history has plenty of surprises This list is updated through the 2024 RBC Heritage. To add, Scottie won 4.5 million at the Players, Jack played 44 seasons and won a little of 5 million on course.
    • 43 (6 over) Couple bogies, couple Pars, a birdie and no doubles. Not bad for first 9 of the year.
    • Most the stuff I found on Instagram and just copy and mix it up. a few of my favorites: Clean>Squat>Press> March Around the body >catch >Squat> press I also hold a the kettle bell upside down with both hands on the handle. Squat when I stand back up I lift the kettlebell up over and behind my head and hold then repeat
