Odds of Tiger winning again? Probably 2:1. Oddly, this course won't be as good for prep for the U.S. Open as it normally is.

I'll be out there on Wednesday if anyone wants to say hi. I don't know for how long, but from about 11am until about 5pm at least.

I don't see him winning this one.  He has to have an off week eventually...right???

Tiger's response:

My inner fan boy just told me Tiger will win (his voice is like Tony's from the Shining BTW )

"Tiger will win, Jetfan!"

Jetfan: "Mmmmm, PBJ...."

Lee doesn't, he was very negative about his game after the last round of the PGA. Doesn't have a shot that he trusts, he hit consecutive duck hooks with driver to back out of the lead on the back 9 Sunday. He felt his short game is as good as it has been but the long stuff is a real issue.

There I've said it, bound to win now.

Its weird there seems to be a lot of big name players I would normally put as favorites to win this type of tournament, who dont seem to be playing the best right now. Obviously TW is gonna be the favorite and I can easily see him winning it. But, not many of the other big names really seem to be able to win this right now. Justin Rose is my pick outside of Tiger, but even he doesnt seem to be fully locked in this year. I was gonna go with Keegan but after the Byron Nelson, I really hate the way he played on Sunday. Jason Day seems suited well here, but he hasnt played well since the Masters. Then other guys like Rory, Haas and Watney dont seem to have the best games right now. Anyone really can win but this tournament usually seems to crown a big name player.

This is my favorite course that I've played, where the tour plays.  While that list is small, this course is amazing.  Have you ever been to the Memorial Tournament before?  I haven't been for years, but I always really enjoyed just plopping down on #12 and watching the action from behind the green.

Edit: I think Tiger wins!

I thoroughly thrilled to watch this tournament.  A world class field should make it exciting.

I'm pretty sure Tiger will compete and place his name in the mix.

I've been to the Memorial 5 times. I love that course. Getting a chance to play there is on my bucket list above playing ANGC and Pine Valley. Please do reveal your secret about how you got on to Jack's Course? I vote Tiger repeats.

I was 16 or 17yrs old.... And played in the US Junior Amateur qualifier in the summer of 1994.  The first day was held at Wedgewood Country Club in Powell... I shot a 76 and was in the top 50 of the leader board.  And then on the 2nd day at Muirfield Village on the tournament course... I blew my load and nearly shot 100.  The course is not easy... And it beat my ass.  First it was the longest course I had played to that date... And the course had very long rough.  So if you missed the fairway, your ball wasn't going anywhere.  In fact, it was hard to find shots in the rough that day....  And I hit more 3i/4i/5i that day than I care to remember.

It was the first time and last time I ever got to play the course.... And while I had a local caddy who's family were members on my bag, with a great deal of knowledge of the course, there are a lot of shots where you need to place the ball accordingly - or run the risk of hitting into a stream/hazard.  And unfortunately for me... I wasn't playing well that day and struggled to keep the ball in the short grass.  It was one helluva a tough track for me.  I think today, if I played it again, it would be easier because I've gotten longer off the tee, and stronger... And would be able to manage my way around the course more so than when I was a 125lbs soaking wet with stick legs that looked like I was sitting on a chicken.

I have been to the Sunday round the last two years and will be going again to the final round this year.  I was there for Tigers shot on 16 but my buddy and I thought it would come down to the 18th so after Tiger hit his tee shot and we saw that it was deep and buried in the back rough we thought he would par the hole.  So we left in a hurry to get a good view of the 18th because the fairways and greens were 7-9 rows deep at that time. While we were walking down the fairway on 18 we hear this tremendous roar behind us.  My buddy and just looked at each other and said well shoot he just chipped in for birdie.  It was the loudest roar I have ever heard there.  I would have thought I was in the Shoe watching a football game.

Hopefully the weather holds off for the weekend as there is a chance for storms.  My favorite holes are the second shot on the par 5 5th, sitting on the hill at the par 3 12th, the approach to the short par 4 14th, and the putts on 18.

A new pavilion was built around 18 which I think will be very nice and will accommodate patrons and players much better.  Before the foot traffic around 18 green and the tee boxes to 1 and 10 were terrible, very crowded and the players had very little room to walk.  Hopefully this new pavilion will clear this up.

    • Just want to share a quick update with everyone. I went to the range the week before last, even though I took it easy no significant pain occurred just a slight twinge when I swung my #4 hybrid. The most encouraging news was no soreness the next morning. However I think switching back to graphite shafts is definitely gonna happen, my mp15's were fitted with X shafts and having something lighter will help.
