Erik, let me know if you need/want any leads and I'll do my best to pull up some old contacts and spread the word.

Any specific ones? Obviously I'd be thrilled if it was in the Cleveland Area, but I don't mind driving a little, either. I'm moving to Sagamore Hills on Friday, so I'll be close to Cleveland and Akron, and I can get to Youngstown in about an hour.

Well, I know the owner of Cherokee Hills/Coppertop ( http://www.cherokeehillsgolf.com/ ), an exec at Firestone who can maybe work something out for the North or West course (definitely not the South), a guy at Grey Hawk ( http://www.greyhawkgolf.com/directions.php ), and an event coordinator at Ridge Top ( http://ridgetopgolfcourse.net/ ) . These 3 are more or less in and around the Cleveland/Akron area. Just throwing out some ideas here.

Here are more NE Ohio locations worth noting, in and around the Cleveland (Cuyahoga) and Geauga (Gee-Aw-Guh lol) County areas; which are closer to PA. I played all of these with the exception of Hemlock Springs.

Coppertop is a great course. I used to play there every Thursday.

With that said, my vote goes to Sleepy Hollow, since it's less than 5 miles from me. Haha.

I'm at Fox Meadow roughly every two weeks during the summer. :)

Yeah, I missed out last weekend......

Next time you're in, let me know so I can do my best to make it up to a clinic or try and schedule a practice session with you, or even a round if you have time.

Fox Meadow is literally 6.2 miles away from my back yard. River Styxx Road (which is where Blue Heron is located, 3 minutes from me) to Rt. 162, to Rt. 57.

lol Slice, you should know where Fox Meadow is at. Next time Erik (iacas) comes to Fox Meadow to do an AimPoint clinic, you should make it up there. I will definitely do my best to attend the next one.

If you're not sure, you can take I-71 S to Rt. 18 (West - make a right). Then, take River Styxx (Left/South) to 162. Make a Right onto 162 and then a Left on 57. Fox Meadow will be on your right-hand side.

Nope, never been there. That's a private club, right?

Yep, private club. Very, very nice course and it's surrounded by homes that start at 500k and some are easily 7 figures.

If you buy a house there, does it come with a free membership?

No.

Point of note: Bob Koch, founder of Medicus, lives just right of #9 tee.

So here's a tentative schedule for August 3 at Fox Meadow:

9am - noon - Hit KickX Irons, hybrids, woods, wedges, and an optional bit of low-cost instruction on full swing and pitching.

noon - 1pm - Eat some grill room type food (hot dogs, etc.) and warm up for the round.

1pm - 6pm - Play Fox Meadow.

6pm - 8pm - Eat at a nearby restaurant (or possibly at Fox Meadow).

We're fairly certain we can get the costs down quite a bit on Fox's normal green fees. Medicus founder/owner Bob Koch lives on the property and will supply a small goodie bag for all players, and a small prize to the winning team.

Current players are (add yourself to this list and re-post the entire list, please):

1) iacas

2) mvmac

3) Slice of Life

4) saevel25

5) Spyder

6) jamo

7) Beachcomber?

8) kregan?

9) TN94z?

(Let's get to 16 guys - though if we get to 13 or 14 I know of two or three who can probably play).

Also, please make sure to add any +1 or +2 that will be playing. Ideally you'll have them join the site before we play, but if they don't want to, that's still cool - we'd love to have them out. Also, if you see anyone in the forum who is in this area, send them a PM and invite them to look at this thread.

Players who play in these events will have first "dibs" on playing in next year's tentative "Newport Cup" East vs. West competition.

This will be exciting and I have already made sure that I am clear of any possible infractions. I will be there for sure.

Erik, do you have any idea what the estimated cost of involvement would be so that I can pass this information on? I am going to try and get a few locals to join TST and partake in this for sure. I know the first thing that they would ask is "How much is it?" though. I know you said it may be flexible in terms of lowering it, but if you can throw me a figure on the high end I can have something to work with.

I have to make sure I'm free of commitments (Girlfriend's birthday is the 5th), but other than that, I'll be there regardless of cost.

The rate is pretty cheap when you consider the course's conditions. I think I only paid $85 last year as a Guest.. or slightly more. I can't really recall because afterwords we went to Buffalo Wild Wings off of I-71 and the rest is a blur...
