Mid-Size Grips

I recently put a winn dry tech midsize grip on one of my clubs.  I've noticed about a 10--15 yard increase in distance since putting it on.  Could putting mid sized grips on help my distance ??

A thicker grip, especially one that's on the soft side, can improve your grip pressure. This makes it less likely you'll "choke off" yardage by holding the club too tightly.

The clubfitter at my usual golf shop said several people went from St to Mid this season, and most are pleased they did.

I was on the line between St and Mid for fit, and am glad I changed to the Winn Dri-Tech. For one thing, I noticed I got a tighter dispersion pattern on my wedge shots.

That's the thing .. I was looking for a grip that would slip too much and stumbled on this one .. Went to a golf shop that I Hate and told em standard size grip .. They gave me midsize and the more I use it the more I begin to love it

I agree. Some people don't like the Winn Dri-Tac but I swear it made me a better player via reduced grip pressure. Anything else and I feel like I am wasting energy trying to hold on to the club. I use the standard despite having large hands.

I have always gone with extra wraps of tape rather than going up to midsize. 3 or 4 wraps does it and makes it easier to grip the glub without having to squeeze too hard. The lighter grip pressure will take tention out of the hands and arms which will help with greater distance.

I put the Dri-Tac midsize on all of my clubs (except for the putter) and have a more comfortable soft grip on the club than I did previously using a Lamkin Crossline Oversize.  I have arthritis in my hands and always felt that I had to grip the club too hard with the Lamkins.  I've lowered my handicap with the Winns and expect to continue to play them..
