Top job cole !

How long have you been working at that green ? Looking at all these pics makes me wanna have a go myself.Trouble is i could see the kids bombing wedges off it !

Better still - how much do you think 10 square yards of the turf from the 12th green at Augusta would cost ?

I like the idea! Real is going to be a pain to take care of! And on top of that if you dont it wrong you will be putting on dirt. I would go synthetic, it might cost more but over time and effort it will save you MONEY! Not to mention the mower prices!

Biggest problem with synthetic is it is allways a green and when you sell your house the buyer had better like golf. You just dont cut the green for 20 days and you have a lush back yard of real grass.

Right, as promised, I will give you an update on how my green is doing. Not so good unfortunatley, having forgotten to cut it for a while. I have done so earlier today, it isnt too bad. I now have a pin, made by my grandfather, who is also trying to find me a large barrel to use as a roller as I cannot get a proper one (no-one anywhere near sells them). I will eventually make a larger and more advanced green. My father also had an idea. You see, our garden is on 2 levels, with steps between the two. The second level is the lower. He had the idea of having a pipe to putt a ball through between the two levels. I am unsure if we will do this or not.

how much does the green cost to take care for 12 months ?   what was the cost of all the special equipment  that it takes to take care of the green,  mowers etc.

also how much time does the green take to maintain ? how much is the water bill ? How did you take to build a 1000 sf green

Hi I prefer using synthetic putting green  everybody always says cost is so expensive but it takes less time to install one by the time you

have real bent grass put in you will already be playing on the synthetic one for a week

last longer hardly any maintenance and the green always looks ready to play

take very little sand infill also the stimps at a 10' some even stimp at 11' - 15'

and i can play in the winter with snow on ground and the cost was at 11.00 a sf installed
