He's had a pretty long career with some really big names to be so hated. He's an abrasive guy, no doubt, but I'm surprised you would hate a caddie that much.

some of the things he's said over the years about tiger (whom I'm also not a fan of) and other players, yep hate him. sorry he is just an enormous prick. he comes across that way. Also he's a caddie why is he saying after scotts wins "this is a great win for me" like he hit the shots. shut up and carry the clubs. Yes theres more to being a caddie than that but you get what I mean

Okay back on topic.

I always liked Rory McIlroy's golf swing, especially his rhythm. I think I mentioned once the his rhythm was something worth emulating, but that's just me.

I am happy with my swing.  Not so happy where the ball goes after I make that swing.  So if I am going to dream of something, I want the ball to go where I think that I am aiming.  If I could "graft" something from the pro's into my game, it's the wedge and short game.  Putting / chipping / sand play.  That is really the biggest difference.  I am not saying that with a pro's short game I could be a pro, because I don't hit enough Fairways, greens, etc.  BUT that alone would probably be the biggest improvement on the score card.

I disagree about the short game of a pro making the biggest difference on the card. I would far rather take the long game of a pro (meaning full swings). Not only do I think that would make a bigger difference in the score, it would make the game so much more enjoyable (for me).

I'm with you on that. I actually have a very good short game, and it's a damn good thing because it's all that holds my game together most of the time.

No matter how good I am at chipping, pitching, flopping, and putting it can never make up for how badly the pros would blow me out of the water with the rest of the game.

Edit: Another thing just occurred to me. Not one of the guys in our Saturday game that is a better player than I am has a better short game than I do. They all hit more fairways and more greens. Some are longer than I am but most are not, so that's not the deciding factor either.

(It's ball striking that makes them better).

I have always been impressed at the way he keeps his balance through follow through when he swings a driver. I have a recoil when I try to rip it off the tee and just can't swing thru and hold it like he can.

I'm surprised so many people want Dufner's. It looks a little bit too loopy in my opinion. I guess if Tommy Gainey won the PGA Championship people would want his swing too.

I think it's probably because its just very smooth and the waggle makes it appear extremely relaxed, almost like it's impossible for him to have any tension when swinging a club even under pressure like the final rnd of the PGA.  The way he struck those wedges the other day were just pure, I mean really a thing of beauty

There are so many professional swings I'd like to emulate.  Adam Scott came to mind first. I can't deny that I like the robotic perfectness of his swing.  However, I'm a rhythmic swinger and have always liked D Love III.  10 years ago, his swing was one of the best on tour.  Luke Donald is another fluid swinger and his balanced finish is picturesque.  Lastly, the Big Easy, as well as Retief Goosen, have powerfully smooth swings.  So many to chose from.  I haven't seen anyone voting for TW, but if you look at his swing back in 1997 before he started messing with perfection - I'd take the TW swing from back then.  It was simple, powerful and delivered the results by which he is regarded today.  FWIW, I don't like Tiger and don't like his current swing.

Definitely Adam Scott, I believe he has the greatest golf swing the game has ever seen.Posture, take away, downswing, impact position, and follow thru are about as perfect as it gets. But I've learned u can't copy someone else's swing, u can take things from their swing but u have to swing ur own swing.

I'm not picky - I'd pretty much be happy (aka overjoyed) to have any of the oh, top 50 men's or women's.  I'd probably not pick Jim Furyk's - that loop at the top is distracting - but given that swing or mine it would really be a no-brainer.  I've always liked Arnold Palmer's swing - really took a cut at the ball and that look at the end like he could stare it into submission was always appealing to me.

I can't speak for anyone else but I have my reasons for wanting Dufner's swing. Look at that right elbow. That is BOSS MAN elbow.

Yes Dufner's swing is not even close to loopy. It is very simple and efficient. His shaft is pretty much on plane at the top, no loop there. I have tried to play a similar move, I don't do it very well, but it takes having to alter the shaft angle in transition out of the equation.

    • I did read the fine print tonight. It said replace with “similar features & function”.  8 yeas ago my purchase had features that today are available on the lower end models and the current version of my model has more “bells & whistles” than what I got 8 years ago.  So I am thinking they honored the agreement and I can’t argue the offer. since getting a credit for the full purchase price all I am really out over the past 8 years was the cost of the extended warranty, which was less than a low end  treadmill would have cost me. now the question is which model to replace with.  I’ll stay with Nordic Track or I forfeit the $1,463 credit so I will get Nordic Track.  And they honored the warranty and were not hard to work with which is a plus.
    • Generally speaking, extended warranties are a terrible deal and should almost always be avoided. They are a huge profit center for the companies that offer them, which should tell you almost everything you need to know about how much value most consumers get when purchasing them.  This is correct, and the old adage applies - only buy insurance when you can't afford the loss. This usually doesn't apply to most consumer goods.  To your second question, no I don't believe the offer is fair. They are replacing it, but it is not being replaced at "no cost to you". Since the amount being disputed (over $500) is non-trivial, I would probably push the issue. Don't waste your time on the phone with a customer service agent or a supervisor. They have probably given you all they have the authority to do. Rather, I would look at the terms of your agreement and specifically legal disputes. The odds are you probably agreed to binding arbitration in the event of a dispute. The agreement will outline what steps need to be followed, but it will probably look something like this.  1. Mail the Nordic Track legal department outlining your dispute and indicate you are not satisfied with the resolution offered.  2. Open up a case with the AAA (American Arbitration Association), along with the required documentation. 3. Wait about 4-5 weeks for a case to be opened - at which point someone from Nordic Track's legal department will offer to give you the new model at no cost to you.  They certainly don't want to spend the time and energy to fight you over $500. 4. Enjoy your new Nordic Track at no cost to you. I recently entered binding arbitration against a fairly large and well known company that screwed me over and refused to make it right. In my demand letter, I made a pretty sizeable request that included compensation for my time and frustration. Once it hit their legal department, they cut me a check - no questions asked. It was far cheaper to settle with me than to send their legal team to defend them in the arbitration.
    • I never thought of looking at it on multiple purchases like you said.  Yes, the extended may help me on 1 or 2 items but not the other 5 or 6.
    • Day 84 - Forgot to post yesterday, but I did some more chipping/pitching.    Back/neck were feeling better today, so I did a much overdue Stack session.
