Oh dang it!...just traded my SLDR for 2 burner 2.0 superfasts, an HL , a Tour Issue and a scotty cameron putter. If I knew the SLDR would come in white...well I'll never know....

Changed out the stock shaft and shortened it to 44". Control is coming back along with higher trajectory, I have it maxed out to 12* and the weight is only one more click from furthest fade adjustment. Distance has returned so I think this will be a keeper.

I have had the SLDR 460 for two weeks.  Since I began using it, I have had more birdies than in the previous weeks that make up this golf season.  I credit that to the additional distance off the tee that puts me closer to the green.  I am sure that is due partially to all the reasons TM tells us but since I no longer slice the drive, the yardage I lost from the ball rolling perpendicular to the fairway is now down the fairway.  I admit the first time I looked down at the club head, it was much different that what I was accustomed and the trajectory of the ball made me think I had popped it up.  But when I got to the ball, I was a good 20 yards further than what I was accustomed to.  I struggle with how high to set the ball on the tee but with trial and error, I am figuring that out.  I am becoming more comfortable with teeing the ball up.  (I would like to hear from others on that topic as well as the adjustments that can be made in general such as the slide)  It comes with the slide set one notch toward Draw and that seems to be right for me.  It has been a score changer for me.  Hope that helps.

Do you know what the swing weight is now?  I've read that a problem with shortening it is the swing weight gets thrown off and the only way to resolve it without losing the benefit of the adjustable weight, is to add another weight to the head in the neutral position.

I was at Golfsmith today and hit the SLDR driver. Felt really nice with decent distance but I pushed them to the right. I then hit the Ping G30, same distance but to the right as well. I had brought my cobra Amp Cell in for a regrip and hit that on the launch monitor as well, hit the amp cell straighter and farther, by about 10 yards on average. Maybe it is because I am use to my amp cell driver but it performed the best. If you haven't hit the cobra woods I suggest you give them a try. their fairway woods are killer as well, I play their 3 wood and hybrids as well. Having said that I do have the TM 5 wood which I really like, as you can see I am not hung up an a particular maker. I guess the bottom line is try as many clubs as you can and don't get fooled by all the hype. Go with what works for you.

Really? I didn't know that as did the guy who sold me the shorter shaft obviously, I have lost all confidence in his abilities when it comes to working on clubs especially mine that is. Anyway I got rid of the SLDR a couple months ago because I just couldn't get dialed into this club though I did correct a swing flaw shortly after that that would have helped I still think I made the right move. I really would like to get a Titleist 913D3 with a good quality matching shaft or spend the bucks on the 915 just depends but I have tried the 913d3 from a friend of mine and I just love the sound and feel that club gives just inspires confidence.

I bought a 460s SDLRs nearly 2 weeks ago, but my golf game is in a tailspin right now and I don't think I can give a review.   I hit it terrible, but I blame myself.   My previous driver was an R9 Super-tri that I hit great for a few years, but my swing has devolved into producing a duck hook.   I do the same with the SDLR...

I decided to try to play a fade with every club in the bag, and now I can't hit anything.  LOL

My golf game is in a bad place right now.........me trying to give a review would be pointless.

Just got an email from TaylorMade - the SLDR now comes in white.

I have the white version and from an aesthetic standpoint, it's prrrrretty.

I'm wondering if anyone can give me info on lofting up though. I see that I have the option, do I need to take it in somewhere to have it done? I'm under the assumption that for an average swing spin/high handicapper, adding loft is the way to go?

Lol, welp I've made a mistake, I own the Taylormade RBZ...not the SLDR. Question still stands though, if anyone knows how I go about adding loft....

Maybe they have a 30 day playability guarantee and can hook you up with the BB 815 Alpha....

Like any other driver, we should test it well and/or be fitted before pulling the trigger.

I've got an SLDR (12*).  I messed with it a bit but reverted back to the neutral settings and am pleased.  I picked up some distance (would guess 8-10 yards on average) over my Ping G20.  Like the look.  Like the trajectory.  What I like most is the lower spin.  Balls don't seem to get as crooked as before if I hook or cut unintentionally and I KNOW it doesn't balloon into the wind like previous drivers I've owned.

All that said, there are others obviously who have hit SLDR drivers and can't stand them.  Reverting back to my initial statement.  Try it out and see if the shoe fits.  I'm glad I did.

      I'd agree that 4w seems like the right play here. I'm not a course designer or anything but that hole looks like it could be so much more fun if everyone played from those front 2 tee boxes that are right outside your shot cone and they cut down most of the trees down that left side of the fairway. That would give risk reward to long hitters who want to try and push it up to that left fairway, allow more players to reach that second fairway, and still allowing it to be perfectly playable for someone who only hits driver like 150yds off the tee.   Yeah it looks like 4iron aimed at that inside edge of the right bunker is the play there, especially if you don't expect a 20mph tailwind again. If it is down wind again, 5iron would be just fine too, it'd still get you inside 150yds for your approach.  Keep in mind tee marker locations too, you measured that one from the back so if those tee markers are moved all the way towards the front of that box then 5 iron is probably best just to be sure that right bunker is never in play.

      Hit my tee shot just into the penalty area and barely found it. Swung hard just in case I hit it. It was slightly downhill with a heavy tailwind. I don't actually hit my 9i 170 yards.
