I chose Augusta. I'll most likely never get the chance to play there, and I'd want to take any opportunity I could to do so.
Also, it didn't say we couldn't practice. I'd just use that year to go super hard on the range.
Hello, my name is John, and I am new to the thread and fairly new to the game of golf. I picked this game up when I moved to my wife's hometown in which either you hunted, had a muddy truck, fished, or golf. Her brother in-law let me hit his cg16 irons and cleveland classic driver 1.5 years ago and i scored around 100ish my first actual 18 hole game (he is a scratch golfer/played in college... no idea what that meant at the time). Problem was his clubs were design for a guy who was 240 lbs 6'4 x-stiff driver and stiff irons...little problem for a guy who is 5'5, 5'6 if i spike my hair. But, I instantly got hooked hard on the game due to the difficulty of it.
Background was baseball for 15 years, so varsity baseball/football/basketball in high school, so sports has always been part of my life.
First set of golf clubs was ebay dci-b 3-pw, odyssey 440 putter with callaway xtreme driver. (scored around 90).
I have since then moved to muscle back adams pro gold on kbs tour stiff with the hybrid 20,23 with matrix shafts with 44" adams speedline 8.5 driver. I have played maybe 35 rounds of golf (a butt load of range time) within the 1.5 years since I got hooked.
I now currently play around a 10 handicap, but yet to play a tournament (will in 2016), was just curious at my handicap. 90% of the time I don't use my handicap and play in the high 70's low 80's , with the occasional amazing day in which I par a course out... and there has been 3 games I have gone under par (very very odd)
Driver: 260-270 carry with a 110ss (fairway 60%, first cut 25%, deep doo doo 15%)
PW: 125yards Conservative and can crank it to 140yards
My bag consist of:
Driver (44"), 14* Mini driver (43.5) (if my driver hates me and I need to find fairways), 20 and 23 hybrid, 5-PW, 52/56/60, and of course the most important club... the PUTTER.
How long, on average, does it take you to play 9 (if you're not playing behind someone)?
(Note: I'm new here and did a search for an existing thread on this but came back with nothing specific. Excuse me if there's one I couldn't find.)
