Hello people of the sand trap! I am looking to get a new set of irons over the "off season" (I play all year so I don't really have an off season

I'm going with a generic answer, Ping I20s when they go on sale. I know at least one 14 year old who is a 3 to 4 handicap, with similar distances and swing speed, and plays them. I'm not a teen, and I play them. :-)

Find yourself a set of Mizuno MX 200's and you will be very happy.  They can still be found new or near new condition for a very attractive price.  I doubt you will find any other set of sticks offering the feel, forgiveness and playability of the MX 200's.....  I'd be looking at stiff flex steel.

Titleist 712 / 714 AP2's or CB's are worth a look given your handicap.  712's will be cheaper since the 714's are already out.

Adams CB 3's, or Cobra S3 Pro's if you're looking for a forged iron without breaking the bank are good options too.

Are the mb's really hard to hit?

I've never hit them but if you look at the CB's the cavity is pretty shallow, Maltby doesn't have revised numbers for the 712 and 714's but he rated the 710 MB's with an MPF of 321 (Classic) and the 710 CB's have a 517 MPF (conventional).  The AP2's are 548 so based on MPF the CB's are more forgiving and closer to the AP2's.

If you're buying new you could consider a combo set 3-6 CB's and 7-P MB's

That might be a good idea. I like the idea of blades I the short irons but I am scared to hit a bladed 3 iron

      You might want to try a can of Bar Keepers Friend. Yes, it is abrasive, so just wet a sponge and dab it on. It has oxalic acid (no bleach like "Comet" kitchen cleanser), and it works wonders on stainless steel and other metals. Try it on a small area first to see what happens.

      Fair   My uneducated thought: the big miss is the penalty area. If you want to optimize score, missing into the bunker (likely 5) is better than missing right into the penalty (possible 6). With that, your strategy seems sound and if you hit a committed shot, you get a bunker 5% of the time, take your medicine and hopefully get a putt for par but accept bogey. You may find yourself in a penalty situation 2-3% of the time and accept the associated outcome. The vast majority of the time though you are giving yourself a good approach shot into the green.

      I walk 30 mins a day on my lunch break. It is not very intense (since i dont want to get sweaty in my work clothes), so just a touch above leisurely. 3 days a week I walk on the treadmill for 60 mins. I alternate the incline from 4 to 10 for a couple minutes, once every ten minutes. I lift my kettlebells nearly everyday. I have a couple complex routines. I find just 15 minutes and my heart rates is elevated
