Adjustable heads with spined shafts

The last week i have read alot about "Spining" ... NBP (Neutral Bend Point = 90 degrees from spine)  and FLO (Flat Line Oscillation) of new shafts. I think it's important to know before the FCT-tip is mounted at the best suitable loft for me.

Several brands have FCT-tips mounted on their shafts. When changing the FCT to lower or higher ... the shaft have to be turned. I have read that there are shafts who have more spines .... but every shaft has a strongest one. Testing is telling me that the best FLO doesnt have to be in the same path as the spine or NBP.

What is the effect when i change the FCT into a lower or higher loft by turning the shaft clockwise or anti-clockwise? The spine ... or NBP ... won't face the target anymore and the best FLO is also not in line with the target anymore.

To be honest I'm not an expert on spining or puring shafts but have heard some shafts companies say it really doesn't matter.  T he shaft is bending/flexing in multiple directions.

There is a youtube video about the spine of the golf shafts and how the golf club should be aligned in a way that the strong spine is aligned in the direction the club is swinging. Since the strong spine direction is more stable, and promotes a more consistent impact. So I could see it make some sort of difference, but I am not sure since there is no actually studies on this.

Most premium shafts these days have pretty stable profiles in all orientations. You don't need to worry about it since the variation is usually something like .3%.

See what happens when it's not ... the path is quite different. When using an adjustable head on the driver .... you better make sure to spine it first and make sure the FLO-line is pointing to the target. After marker the shaft then mount the FCT-tip in the right angle for your best fitted loft.
