Tiger's only had one playoff loss in his PGA Tour career, but it was elsewhere in Los Angeles. I'm still optimistic he can pull this one off.

Yikes! No wonder Tiger won't come back to the L.A. Open - his two playoff losses, both in this city. And Tiger's short putt misses this week will haunt him a bit.

Maybe Tiger heard how important 2nd place finishes are so some guys in a certain thread so he was just trying to burnish that part of his resume'. ;-)

At the risk of starting another Tiger controversy I believe Tiger just started "counting his chickens" too soon when Zach had to take a drop on 18.  Tiger was not expecting a playoff and never got in the "I'm in a playoff" state of mind.  As a result he got beat.  Kind of simple and has happened to a lot of players (usually in match play) but we just don't expect this from Tiger.  I won't argue this with anyone as not being a mind reader I can't prove this was the situation, but it is what I believe happened.
