I don't know if Mike or Erik have told you yet but it looks like your flipping it through impact, meaning I don't think your getting lag or shaft lean at impact and that is a habit that I had and it's not easy to break out of (at least for me it wasn't). Like I said I only think you may be doing this so if I'm wrong sorry but it's just what it looks like to me is all.

how did you break this habit? i will try it next time I'm at the range.

Improve your other Keys, specifically #1 and #2.  Lag happens.

Yeah just keep it simple and stay on point.  If you get distracted by other "tips" or looking for shortcuts it's only going to prolong improvement process.  Speaking from experience here ;-)

No worries, just expressing what I feel is best.  Like I said it's something I had to figure out.

I tried keeping my head still and I did amazing while focusing on it .

I know that for most people the feeling of keeping your head still is not really a felling that works in learning to improve.   However, every time I start having low point issues on the course, I go back to a sense of feeling that in the swing and it works for me as well.

For me, it's stretching the right side from ~A2 onwards. Thinking "steady head" just makes me forget everything else. :-P

Correct there are other pieces at play to allow the head to stay steady.  But if thinking "steady head" works, then it works ;-)

ok here are some videos of tonight with my driver and 5 iron. i was practicing a little flatter swing today. I'm still coming over the top which is getting on my nerves now. during the round i was working on leading with my lower half to prevent coming over the top. it helped a little, but here are the videos. also after watching i noticed my take away was a little faster than i would like. only DTL video because of the walls sorry/ also this is the second time out with the new shaft

It's really time to start working on your actual swing if you want to improve. Still well INward (over the top, swinging left, etc.).

There's little reason you can reasonably expect to shoot in the 80s consistently with the issues in your golf swing right now.

I'm no pro, but I've been working solely on trying to learn to hit a draw to overcome my own swing problems and inconsistencies.  So take this as you will.  The message of that video is exactly what I was going to recommend.  I didn't turn my hips enough at the start.  I learned to keep my hands in super tight, but the get them not coming OTT on the down swing I cocked my wrist at the top to try to slide my hands down super close to my blocking hip and suffered constantly from blocked push-fades.  Keys, feels, and issues that have helped/hindered me:

1) Feels like a very big turn and a flatter swing

2) Key for me has been not overdoing the hip turn to the point of over-straightening the back leg, raising the back hip too much, and dipping down with the head

3) Another feel that's helping me is feeling like the hands come into impact under plane

4) That helps me counteract another problem, which is don't spin at the top.  If my first move is a baseball-y shoulder turn at the top, I undo all the good from the hip turn and go right back to choosing between pull-draws and blocked push-fades.

    • Day 113: 4/18/24 Stack training progress check after finishing my 6th program, and 4th Full Speed Spectrum Training session, which is recommended for my next program.     Gained 1 mph with driver, 195 g, 95g. Maintained with 280 g , and gained 2 with 145 g. Lost 1 mph on both lead and trail arm. Felt like I lost distance in my last round…
    • Please forgive the sweaty shirt.  Just got off the treadmill and decided to do my Evolvr drill.
    • I'd agree that 4w seems like the right play here. I'm not a course designer or anything but that hole looks like it could be so much more fun if everyone played from those front 2 tee boxes that are right outside your shot cone and they cut down most of the trees down that left side of the fairway. That would give risk reward to long hitters who want to try and push it up to that left fairway, allow more players to reach that second fairway, and still allowing it to be perfectly playable for someone who only hits driver like 150yds off the tee.   Yeah it looks like 4iron aimed at that inside edge of the right bunker is the play there, especially if you don't expect a 20mph tailwind again. If it is down wind again, 5iron would be just fine too, it'd still get you inside 150yds for your approach.  Keep in mind tee marker locations too, you measured that one from the back so if those tee markers are moved all the way towards the front of that box then 5 iron is probably best just to be sure that right bunker is never in play.
    • Day 1: worked on my drill for my arms.
    • Hit my tee shot just into the penalty area and barely found it. Swung hard just in case I hit it. It was slightly downhill with a heavy tailwind. I don't actually hit my 9i 170 yards.
