Another thread got me to thinking about some bets I've made where I couldn't lose. My top three: (1) A guy bet me $100 that Iran had more people than the U.S. (2) Same guy bet me $100 that no defensive end in the NFL weighed more than 200 lbs. (I sure miss working with that guy). ;-) (3) Different guy bet me $10 before an NFL season that the Pittsburg Steelers would play the Oakland Raiders in the Super Bowl. (When he paid off the bet he still didn't realize they couldn't play each other in the Super Bowl). Anybody else know people that have more money than sense?

Another thread got me to thinking about some bets I've made where I couldn't lose.

My top three:

(1) A guy bet me $100 that Iran had more people than the U.S.

(2) Same guy bet me $100 that no defensive end in the NFL weighed more than 200 lbs.

(I sure miss working with that guy).

(3) Different guy bet me $10 before an NFL season that the Pittsburg Steelers would play the Oakland Raiders in the Super Bowl.

(When he paid off the bet he still didn't realize they couldn't play each other in the Super Bowl).

Anybody else know people that have more money than sense?

one guy told me the entire U.S. was going on the daylight savings.

I told him no.  Arizona (I know this because I travel for business and have to visit Arizona every month or two.) , Hawaii and parts of Ohio do not go on daylight savings time. (I thought I heard parts of Iowa also didn't, but I am not sure about that one)

After arguing back and forth for a few minutes, he bet me $20 that I was wrong.

After he googled it on his smartphone, I didn't have the heart to take his money.

I work with a girl that I bet about another employee signing for a promotion.   I stated that he would, she denied it would happen.   She convinced him without me knowing it, that the new job was a bad idea.   I lost the bet because she stacked the deck!  You would have thought I'd have learned since she did the same to me a few years ago.   Luckily, the bet was cheap.

From the land of perpetual cloudiness.   I'm Denny

    • Ok, it's been a while, but I finally got the 18th hole! It was the only one left over from last year and it took 14 months, but I got it today. It is a slight dogleg right, plays 425 up to an elevated green into the prevailing wind. Playing slightly up, I hit driver and had about 160 into the green. Hit 6 iron to 4 feet and with a straight uphill putt made it center cut! Now I can stop thinking about that hole!  All I have left this year is 5, 15, and 17.  Let's Go!
    • He’s just tired of fighting. And being asked. And just tired.
    • Yeah, that's what most of the guys there were saying. I'm guessing they weren't able to cut them due to all the rain. Or maybe they are growing really fast and since we tee'd off at 6PM... 😜
    • Frankly, one could be forgiven for thinking there was some truth to the rumor as seemed like he was laying the groundwork for a while with his softened stance on LIV.
    • Well, Rory nipped those rumors in the bud: Rory McIlroy: 'I'll play the PGA Tour for the rest of my career' - world number two dismisses LIV Golf link Rory McIlroy says he will play on the PGA Tour "for the rest of my career" as he quashes rumours of him making a big-money move to LIV Golf. I suppose you never know, but it's a stark contrast from how, for example, Cam Smith handled the rumors. Feeling much better about this today.
