Ah, yea, cell phones would make it annoying. Though you might want to PM @iacas. He is the MAC guru when it comes to this forum

I do not use the so called iphone.

As far as browser features go, they're the same as the phones by EvilCorp, Matt. C'mon now…

I recommend a Member Swings thread too. And you can upload quite easily to youTube from your phone, and add the link inside of [video] tags will embed YouTube or Vimeo videos. On any phone.

Never mind. The video tags only work with YouTube or Vimeo URLs, and if I'm going to post video of my swing, it'll be in a My Swing thread.

To have a better timing is easy to to with your bigger muscles, your legs, torso, you seam to use your arms more.

Turn to your right heel to bring your leftt arm close to your chest and your body releases it

for better timing.

I don't see what all the fuss is about embedding - your swing looks great to me - wish mine was that well balanced.

It's a lot less convenient for people to have to leave the site to see it.  A lot of people won't bother.  If you want people to watch your video or see your photos, it's better for everybody if you embed them right here.

Im not sure either, i appreciate it makes it easy for everyone i cant deny that but its a pain in the butt when you dont have a youtube account or pc to use Nevermind ive got things to work on, pro said i can go one of two ways Slow the arms down withouth slowing the body down during the transition Or speed my hips up to clear before the arms arrive Got another lesson tonight so will see how it goes

One drastic thing that I wouldn't recommend ... and only found out accidentally is that I hook it far less after I was forced by a finger injury to change from the overlap to the interlock grip.      Interlock seems to result in a straighter and occasional fade ball flight (for me) - not sure if the pro's here could explain why or this is an anomaly, but you might want to mess around with it & see if it helps ....

Honestly in that video I don't see a hook. It looks like a slight pull fade or a straight fade. The path isn't that too far inside, its a very neutral swing path. I guess the only concern would be if you straighten your left leg too early you will shut down the clubface and hit a big pull/straight hook.

Here's what I would work on,

Get more tilt in your shoulders. They should be pointing towards the base of the barricade in that video, not the top. You can do this by making movements with out swinging a club. Just lay a club across your chest, and just rotate your body keeping your head still. Get that shaft to point more down towards that location. You'll find your right hip goes more up in the backswing as well, which is a good thing. That will help your weight shift because its really really tough to stop gravity from not sliding your hips forward when they are tilted like that.

From there, I would work on maintaining a bit more flex in that left knee in the downswing. Really feel like your smashing something under your left heel. This will help drive your lower body weight forward. This is a good thing because it helps drive the path forward allowing your hands to stop flipping at the ball. I think you get in trouble with not getting enough weight forward, when that rotation stops too fast it can cause you to flip the wrists and rotate the forearms closing the clubface. Get more weight forward into impact, hold that flex and really get that left hand ahead of the ball at impact. This will allow you to control the clubface better and start hitting push shots. Once you get a push you can work on fine tuning to a push draw.

Ideally we want to be able to give you the most amount of time to allow your hands to get forward at impact. We also want to get your path going to the right. From there its figuring out how to control the clubface at that point of impact to give you the shot shape you want. With a push, the ideal shot is a draw.

Seriously for a 16 handicap you have a pretty solid golf swing to work with. Keep at it!!

lol thanks for taking the time to watch it, i know 3 seconds is crap and being linked not so great

my big miss is a push right when i drop to far under plane so getting the shaft more upright is what ive worked on lately,

agree on the shoulders, with being flat i have a tendency to stand up ont he backswing, the pro watched me last night and when i try to keep my head level and the shaft angle up my shoulders naturally angle down more, its something ill keep track off during p[ractice but perhaps wont focus to much,

agree on making space for the hands, thats what the pro said last night, quick at the top and crowded at the bottom, thanks for the tip about the left knee will try that!!

I wouldn't say quick, DONT worry about your tempo. You honestly don't swing the club hard. Your tempo is just fine. I don't get the "quick" statement the pro is making. I think he just doesn't know what fix to make and just thinks the hook is caused by the hands moving to fast. Which they really don't look like it. Your backswing in that video looks pretty good. Just need more shoulder tilt. It doesn't look like you are rushing anything. To me when someone says you are too fast, it usually means they just think your problem is over swinging. I've had swings were things feel rushed, it was because my swing was out of sync, not because I was actually swinging faster. If you load the club well, and have everything working in the correct order, then things feel SMOOTH. If you loose one piece, and something starts to compensate, things can feel RUSHED. A flip move will feel rushed because the clubhead is passing the hands, so if feels fast. When the hands are ahead of the clubhead you get that weight feeling, so it feels smoother. At least for me it does :-D .

FWIW here's the swing as a series of images.

And based on that…

… two things.

1. Point the face a bit more right at setup.

2. This video:

Watched the video eric very good Can see my hips/shoulders could go more open prior to impact Only question is on your follow through it looks like you never release the club and just hold on all the wayy through, is that unique to yourself?

    • Thanks for the feedback. @StuM, we are a "club without real estate" so no facilities or pro. We have a membership of around 185 players and we only play together as a group at our tournaments, which are held at public access courses. A group of us setup the tournaments, collect the money and dole out the prizes.
    • In general, granting free relief anywhere on the course isn't recommended.  Similarly, when marking GUR, the VSGA and MAPGA generally don't mark areas that are well away from the intended playing lines, no matter how poor the conditions.  If you hit it far enough offline, you don't necessarily deserve free relief.  And you don't have to damage clubs, take unplayable relief, take the stroke, and drop the ball in a better spot.
    • If it's not broken don't fix it. If you want to add grooves to it just because of looks that's your choice of course. Grooves are cut into putter faces to reduce skid, the roll faced putter is designed to do the same thing. I'm no expert but it seems counter productive to add grooves to the roll face. Maybe you can have it sand-blasted or something to clean up the face. Take a look at Tigers putter, its beat to hell but he still uses it.
    • I get trying to limit relief to the fairway, but how many roots do you typically find in the fairway? Our local rule allows for relief from roots & rocks anywhere on the course (that is in play). My home course has quite a few 100 year old oaks that separate the fairways. Lift and move the ball no closer to the hole. None of us want to damage clubs.
    • Hello, I've been playing a Teardrop td17 F.C. putter for many years and love it. It still putts and feels as good or  better than any of the new putters I've tried and it's in excellent condition except the face has dings in it ever since I bought it used that kind of bother me. I was just wondering if it's possible to have some really shallow horizontal grooves milled into the face on a "roll face" putter. I think I would rather spend some money on it instead of trying to get used to a new putter.  Thanks
