Edwin Watts to exit St. Louis,

1 post in this topic

Edwin Watts in moving to close its St. Louis store as part of the chain's post-bankruptcy reorganization. Early plans call for EW to retain 49 of its 91 stores.

In December, a bankruptcy judge approved the sale of EW to Worldwide Golf Shops and Hilco Merchant Resources LLC.

EW entered St. Louis in summer 2011, occupying the site of a shuttered Golf Discount store. EW never really gained traction locally. Early indications of problems: With little fanfare, EW scheduled its grand opening the same weekend as a major demo event by a competitor.

Anyone else have an EW store that's closing?

It's only cheating if the clubs aren't legal for some reason. Use what works best for you and helps you enjoy the game.
    • Head Covers for Irons
      By Pendragon · Posted
About 20 years ago I'd gotten a new set of irons, so I decided I'd get covers for them. After the first 10 rounds or so with the new sticks, I'd lost 4 of the covers. I decided then that, for me at least, iron covers were probably not meant to be in my future. Since then I've never had the urge to go the iron cover route again. I suppose they probably save a bit of wear and tear, but I can't see any significant benefits in the long run.

Checking in here to see if there are any active members in the Portland, OR area.  Always looking to add to my list of potential playing partners. I'm not a great golfer yet, but I'm getting better and I'm looking forward to playing all of the great courses that are in the Portland area.

77 today!   41 on the front, 36 on the back.      This his was really nice. I blew up my last two times out after shooting 79 and 83 then followed those with 86 and 87.    I'd have to count the score card, but had 2 3 birds which tied my best for one round
