That putt from Michelle was painful to watch.

Goodness.

If you practice enough you could probably learn to putt standing on your head...but I'll never believe that's the best way to putt.

Worked there. She should be within 2 now though.

Great job by Lexi. Hopefully Michelle Wie can be more aggressive off the tee the next time she has a shot at a major.

Looking down the leaderboard, I can't think of two more compelling women players to watch when playing at such a high level. It didn't turn out to be the duel we wanted but it was still fun to watch. Let's hope Lexi and Michelle stay relevant in the majors ahead. They are great to watch.

Wish Wie had played a little better but still awesome to watch. Wie's got it going for real, and Lexi Thompson is a freak of nature.

Hope to see them playing again soon.

Couldn't hang out here because I was watching late on DVR, but I gotta say I was thoroughly impressed with Lexi Thompson today.  She's a 19 year old playing in the last group in the final round of a major and I don't think she made a single real mistake all day.  Just, wow.  Congratulations to her.

Michelle Wie didn't really have it with the putter today, but with the way Lexi played, I don't think it really mattered much.

Also, extra impressed with Lexi's coordination.  By my count she had matching:

  1. Shoes
  2. Skirt
  3. Shirt (accents)
  4. Hat
  5. Barrettes
  6. Two pony tail ribbons
  7. Glove
  8. Ball marker
  9. Grips (not her putter though)
  10. And her driver head.

And I think even her shades were tinted blue.

P.S.  I got a wake up call in regards to Wie today when I realized that she's only 24 years old. We've known of her since she was 12 or 13, so it may seem like she's old, but the girls got her entire career ahead of her.  Go Michelle!

EDIT:  I've been on board with the people who think the caddies shouldn't be allowed to "line up" their players like you see a lot now, especially on the LPGA Tour.  I think I've changed my mind after today, and here's why:

I don't think they are really lining them up.  They just stand behind them, wait until they are set up, tell them good, and then move. I'm sure there may be some that actually actively line up the player "a little left, no a nudge right, ok, now you're good" but as I watch it, it seems more like just an extra vote of confidence.  Just like when you hear the player and caddie talking, and they disagree, but once the player makes the decision, the caddy has to sound confident in the decision so he immediately turns into a yes man.  "I love it, perfect choice."  I think it's just a psychologica, confidence thing.

They showed a video of her from when she was 12 (12!!!) around the third hole. Can you imagine being that good at something at 12, becoming world famous for it, and then spending the next dozen years surrounded by people asking you when you're going to break through? Her career (and life) trajectory is insane.

Great final pairing with Wie and Thompson.  Both can get even better.

Although Wie has played for many years,  she is still new to "full time" professional golf.  Playing golf while being a full time high school or college student is a big disadvantage compared to full time players.  That's why i think both Lexi and Michelle are going to get even better.

Big Congratz to Lexi, also ya gotta give to Michelle, although her putter let her down, we haven't seen the last of her, my guess is, she will vie for many more titles. Anyways, great tourney, hope to more like it.

You could tell Wie didn't have her A game but I liked that she didn't play herself out of it should Lexi have taken a bad number on hole. Lexi just played perfect golf and no one was going to beat her that day. They seem to play pretty quickly and get on with it which is a breathe of fresh air. Definitely will be trying to go and see them play live.

I think it's funny (and ironic) that Wie is famous for being a child prodigy because she played in PGA events when she was 14, but she just had her first real chance at a major taken from her by another child prodigy who has actually lived up to the hype.  Lexi and Wie both turned pro at the age of 15; at that point in their amateur careers they had both had successful finishes in LPGA regular and major events.  As far as I'm concerned, that's where the similarities end.

By the age of 20, Wie had won twice on Tour, so it's not like she totally flamed out. She also was a full-time student while trying to play on Tour. I think it's a little bit disengenuous to say he hasn't lived up to her potential when really she's only been a real Tour player for like two or three years.

    • I did read the fine print tonight. It said replace with “similar features & function”.  8 yeas ago my purchase had features that today are available on the lower end models and the current version of my model has more “bells & whistles” than what I got 8 years ago.  So I am thinking they honored the agreement and I can’t argue the offer. since getting a credit for the full purchase price all I am really out over the past 8 years was the cost of the extended warranty, which was less than a low end  treadmill would have cost me. now the question is which model to replace with.  I’ll stay with Nordic Track or I forfeit the $1,463 credit so I will get Nordic Track.  And they honored the warranty and were not hard to work with which is a plus.
    • Generally speaking, extended warranties are a terrible deal and should almost always be avoided. They are a huge profit center for the companies that offer them, which should tell you almost everything you need to know about how much value most consumers get when purchasing them.  This is correct, and the old adage applies - only buy insurance when you can't afford the loss. This usually doesn't apply to most consumer goods.  To your second question, no I don't believe the offer is fair. They are replacing it, but it is not being replaced at "no cost to you". Since the amount being disputed (over $500) is non-trivial, I would probably push the issue. Don't waste your time on the phone with a customer service agent or a supervisor. They have probably given you all they have the authority to do. Rather, I would look at the terms of your agreement and specifically legal disputes. The odds are you probably agreed to binding arbitration in the event of a dispute. The agreement will outline what steps need to be followed, but it will probably look something like this.  1. Mail the Nordic Track legal department outlining your dispute and indicate you are not satisfied with the resolution offered.  2. Open up a case with the AAA (American Arbitration Association), along with the required documentation. 3. Wait about 4-5 weeks for a case to be opened - at which point someone from Nordic Track's legal department will offer to give you the new model at no cost to you.  They certainly don't want to spend the time and energy to fight you over $500. 4. Enjoy your new Nordic Track at no cost to you. I recently entered binding arbitration against a fairly large and well known company that screwed me over and refused to make it right. In my demand letter, I made a pretty sizeable request that included compensation for my time and frustration. Once it hit their legal department, they cut me a check - no questions asked. It was far cheaper to settle with me than to send their legal team to defend them in the arbitration.
    • I never thought of looking at it on multiple purchases like you said.  Yes, the extended may help me on 1 or 2 items but not the other 5 or 6.
    • Day 84 - Forgot to post yesterday, but I did some more chipping/pitching.    Back/neck were feeling better today, so I did a much overdue Stack session.
