Hey Mike. I've been working on better rotation and using a wider stance with my toes outward a bit. Definitely allows more rotation. I've hit about 500 balls working on this. I'm gaining a little more distance while doing this. However, I still have some inconsistencies. My miss hit is usually a push or push slice. I struggle with a consistent grip. Usually a strong grip is used. If I take a neutral or weak grip I tend to slice. Can you suggest anything else for me? Thanks Mike.

Post an updated video if you can, I don't want to speculate too much. This might be the next piece IMO, legs extending, belt buckle facing the sky

Hope I did this right. I'm very excited Mike! I've been really working on getting weight forward and compressing the ball. Notice my beautiful divot AFTER the ball! I did point out my toes and widened my stance but the stance in the video just feels good for me. Weight transfer feels awesome and hitting down on the ball is so much better than flipping or sweeping! So, what do you think? Sorry about the wind in the video. BTW, the shot was a 7i and went 170yds give or take a yard.

Can you share a little? What have you been doing, working on, what results have you been seeing, etc.?

Absolutely. Since my first swing video I watched the video drills that help with good rotation and weight forward. A wider stance just seemed to hinder me a bit but pointing out my toes felt good. I watched other videos and read comments from you and Mike. Crazy good teaching IMO. I then took this knowledge along with the 5 keys principles and headed off to Denver for 3 days of Golf Made Simple. I had some interviews with the program before going and I was very attracted to their philosophies of teaching and they too agreeing about the important concepts of an efficient golf swing. Upon arrival I was thrilled to find out I would be the ONLY STUDENT in that program. So three days, eight hours a day just me and a pro. I was beside myself. Some very effective drills regarding weight forward and compressing the ball were done and in the afternoon of the first day I began hitting shots like I've never felt before. It was absolutely the best feeling I've ever felt on a golf course. Hitting down and through the ball making a nice divot forward from the ball was just awesome for me. We worked on all aspects of the game and now I'm just focusing on keeping this going. My old habits of swinging too far from the inside creep in here and there. Still a lot of work to do of course but I feel pretty good about my progress. Last but certainly not least, I read Erik and Dave's book. LSW is an exceptional book IMO. It really helped me build a complete plan for continuing this journey. The statistics in the book were pretty eye opening. So lots of work left to do but I like the path I'm on.

It sounds like you are hitting the ball much better than before...  I took a look at your head movement, and this might be an area for you to improve.

I'm just re-attaching the video that @mvmac posted above, as I think it address exactly what you should be looking at.  Good Luck!

About a month ago. Poor video as neeeed to be more centered, sorry. This was a 7i. It was a good ball strike that carried about 170yds. I look to slouched over and don't like how low my right arm is on my chest.

I'm going to assume the face on swing is pretty similar. Would like to see you clean up some set-up pieces. Slouched is good at address, you're just bent over too much and your eyes/chin are "up". Here's what I recommend.

- Check the grip, left thumb is off, also check the placement in the right hand. Towards the end of the backswing you lose the structure in your grip. I think it's a combo of the grip and how the left elbow works on the backswing.

- Raise the handle at address.

- Lower the eyes/chin. These last two will help you stand "taller" but you'll still be "soft" of slouched enough with the upper back.

- Turn the left foot out.

- Bump the hips a little forward.

Hips aren't set forward enough at address and they slide back during the backswing. Right foot rolls inward too much, makes it tough get the hips forward AND open enough which allows you to "thrust".

The set-up pieces will help you turn your hips in place. Create a gap on the trail hip, not the front hip. This will will make it easier to keep the elbows from spreading apart which means they'll stay closer together on the downswing and the result will be better contact.

Wow, thank you so much Mike. I've got some things to work on....but I won't spend 6 hours at the range...short and precise. I know the video was sloppy but cleaned up would that suffice for Evolvr? Adding a DTL view of course..

Are you on Evolvr now?

Yeah get some better dtl video for Evolvr or next time you post. Stick with the set-up stuff first.

@Vinsk

For filming the down-the-line view, I take my stance then put the club down along my toe line. Then I go back and set the camera to aim exactly on the club direction line. This makes it easy. Remember to adjust when you go between a driver and iron.

    • I get trying to limit relief to the fairway, but how many roots do you typically find in the fairway? Our local rule allows for relief from roots & rocks anywhere on the course (that is in play). My home course has quite a few 100 year old oaks that separate the fairways. Lift and move the ball no closer to the hole. None of us want to damage clubs.
    • Hello, I've been playing a Teardrop td17 F.C. putter for many years and love it. It still putts and feels as good or  better than any of the new putters I've tried and it's in excellent condition except the face has dings in it ever since I bought it used that kind of bother me. I was just wondering if it's possible to have some really shallow horizontal grooves milled into the face on a "roll face" putter. I think I would rather spend some money on it instead of trying to get used to a new putter.  Thanks
    • I agree with @klineka & @DaveP043 above.  When a new member first joins the club they cold be told that they are not eligible for tournaments until they have an established HCP.  As you said, it only takes a few rounds.  If they do not to post HCP that was their choice and choices have consequences.  If playing in the tournament is important to them then they should step up and establish an HCP.  Maybe they miss the 1st tournament, is that a real big deal?  And if it is a "Big Deal" to them then they had the opportunity to establish the HCP. As for not knowing how to report for HCP I assume your club has a pro and they should be able to assist in getting the scores reported and I suspect out of state courses may also have staff that can assist if asked.

    • Cool here's my tweak, "If a player’s ball lies in the general area and there is interference from exposed tree roots or exposed rocks that are in the fairway or 1 club length from the fairway the tree roots and exposed rocks are treated as ground under repair. The player may take free relief under Rule 16.1b.[But relief is not allowed if the tree roots only interfere with the player’s stance.]
