I love everything about this cart. Yet heard it can be a hassle opening and closing it(5 idfferent movements)? What are you views? I would want this because it folds up so small, it would be perfect for the trunk of my Jetta. I currently have an old Bag Boy Express. It's a good cart, yet huge when folded. And the male connector on the bottom strap fell off, for the second time. I orderded the second one for $15 and can no longer find it. And don't want to buy another replacement. Yes, I can go out and get a bungee cord now, if I choose too. I golfed with a buddy having one of those Golfsmith Tour Treks. One button open and close. Half the price of the Clicgear. Yet still a large cart when folded.

I love mine, but to be honest it took some "training" to be able to open it ... even pinched my fingers a couple of times ... never claimed to be a smart man ... however, after a few trial runs I am an expert now.  Love the way it folds to nothing

Have too admit I am ready to upgrade to one with a built in seat ... I just need to rest these old legs on occasion.

The movements all blend into one. You just have to make sure it is facing the right way and that you have your foot on the front wheel.

I've got the 2.0.  It only takes a few seconds to open or close it.  (You can watch on the video on their website .)

They make a seat that can be installed on versions 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, and 3.5+. You can order it from the accessories part of their website. I don't know how comfortable, how sturdy, or how easy to install it is, though.

(No, I don't work for them.  I happened to be looking at their website this weekend because I had to make a minor repair/adjustment to mine.)

I love my 3.0 and the more you open and close it the easier it gets.  Do a search on youtube as there are some very imformative videos on opening and closing it.  I will be adding a seat to mine next which will take time getting used to I am sure but this cart is so much fun the more you use it the more you appreciate how well it is made.  Mine was a Christmas present so I opened it and closed it while it sat in my living room waiting for Spring to arrive in Michigan so it is second nature for me to get out and open it up without much thought anymore.  I figure I have saved thirty or more dollars in cart fees already and the best part is I am having fun exercising and losing weight walking instead of riding.

I've had my Clicgear 3.5 for around 6 months now and I still think it's a great trolley. As far as opening and closing the trolley I would not worry about it, the handles you need to unluck are red so you can easily see them, after you have opened it 3-4 times it will be like tying your shoelaces.

Very good buy in my eyes, would recommend to others.

Cool. Thanks for your reviews. Can it, with the straps and all, hold cart bags? I have the Titleist lightweight cart bag and would like to eventually get the Sun Mountain Tour Series bag. Would this be a problem you think?

I have the 3.0.  Love it.  When I first got it it was a tad confusing about how to open/close it easily, but once you get it down it's fast and very easy.  Like @Shorty said, it's all about putting your foot on the wheel when opening it.  Closing it's super easy.  Just remember to close/shift the front wheel first.

As to the space, I replaced my carry bag with a cart bag when I got the 3.0.  It could easily fit a huge cart bag.  No issues there.

One tip, the cup holder is useful, but attach it to the top nob, not the lower nob (there are two along at least one side of the handle).  If it's on the lower nob it gets in the way of closing the bag too often.

You have to push and pull in the right places, but it's no hazzle to set up or pack down. Takes me 10-15 minutes each way. It doesn't spring out all by itself, but if you follow the instructions, it's no problem.

I love the cart. It's my first, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I'm very pleased with it. It feels sturdy, rolls well and gives me what I want from a pushcart.

No I have used it for both my cart bag and stand bag and it works great.  The clicgear has easy to use straps to hold the bag in place.  My bags do not have pockets where the carry strap is located so it they both fit snug into the nest of the cart.  Just got back from nine holes today and unless I am doing eighteen holes as I am 65 years old I'm happy I spent the money I did on the Clicgear.  Once you get one of these or the Sun Mountain three wheel cart is nice also you will wonder how you ever got along without it.  Just remember you get what you pay for...

For you techs out there that like to really study these carts (I know I did all winter) try taking two of them turn them upside down and spin the wheels at the same rate of speed to see what good bearings can do to help push your cart.  I did this with the Clicgear 3.0 and the Sun Mountain three wheel cart that looks similar.  Had the sales guy at Golfsmith turn them over so the front wheel was up in the air.  Took both wheels and spun them equally best as I could.  Did this two different times and the Sun Mountain was spinning twice as long after the Clickgear's wheel stopped spinning.  I have to believe that Sun Mountain spent a little more on the bearings they use but at the end of the day I bought the Clicgear 3.0 mainly because I could get mine for about forty dollars cheaper.  Both are excellent carts just wanted to share some of the work I did checking all these carts out before I made a decision on which one to buy.

? Type-o? Kind of quite some time to open and close a cart.

It takes me around 3 minutes top to get my gear out of my van set up my trolley with bag and get golf shoes on.

The folding of the trolley takes me around 15 seconds no kidding.

thought there must of been something wrong :D

I actually timed myself this morning took me 10 seconds and i got the top strap caught, so I think around 6-7 seconds to open it normally.

Just watched the YouTube vids for opening and closing it. As Spanky would say: "REMAAAAKABLE".  Very easy and quick, considering the 5 steps and levers to use.  SOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   Hopefully it should also weigh less than my BagBoy, which would be great for pushing up the freaking hills on my local courses. But now I will have more room in my trunk.

Its folds very compact and like we said the opening and closing is very easy once you have used it a couple of times. It does weight quite a bit though compared to normal push trolleys as its built with good materials but is still very easy to push.

If your looking at buying any of the addon's for your clicgear trolley I would recommend the umbrella angle adjuster one (linked below) paired with a good umbrella is a life saver.

http://www.clicgear.com/accessories/umbrella-angle-adjust.php

One addon I would be a little sketchy about is the GPS holder, I found it did not fit my old Garmin G3 model. If it does fit the model you are using it may not be so bad but its not the greatest design.

    • Makes sense.  Like I said, I wouldn't have been upset at their original offer either, and based on the fine print it seems like they've held up their end of the deal.
    • If you've only had to adjust retroactively one time in 8 years and have around 5 people each year without handicaps, that's like 40-50 people total so it sounds like you're doing a pretty good job. I think your questions give enough to go off of. This might be a good way to get new people to actually post a few scores during the 6 weeks leading into the first event. Something like "New members will be eligible for tournament money once they have at least 3 posted rounds in GHIN" or something like that. If they can get 3 rounds in prior to their first event, then they're eligible. If not, they'll soon become eligible after an event or two assuming they play a little bit outside of events.
    • This is a loooooong winded narrative so if you don't like long stories, move on. 😉 Our senior club typically gets about 25 new members each year. We lose about 25 members each year for various reasons (moved to FL/AZ, disabled, dead, too expensive). Of the new members, usually 20 have an active GHIN handicap. About 5 each year do not have a GHIN handicap. When they join our club, we give each member a state association membership that includes GHIN handicapping services. We play a series of handicapped tournaments over the summer. When we sign up a new member who does not have a GHIN handicap, we attempt to give them an estimated index until they have sufficient scores posted to have an actual GHIN index.  Our first event typically is around May 15 so, in theory, a new member has about 6 weeks to post a few scores. Posting season in the Mitten starts April 1. Inevitably, several of the unhandicapped individuals seem  to either not play until the first tournament or can't figure out how to enter scores (hey, they are seniors). That situation then leads to my contacting the new member and asking a series of questions: a. Did you ever have a GHIN handicap? If yes, which State and do you recall what it was? b. Do you have an alternate handicap through a non-GHIN handicap service or a league? c. What do you think your average score was last year (for 9 or 18) d. What was your best score last year? Where did you play and which tee was used? e. What do you consider a very good score for yourself? Based on their responses I attempt to give them an index that makes them competitive in the first couple events BUT does not allow them to win their flight in the first couple events. We don't want the new members to finish last and at the same time, we don't want someone with a "20" playing handicap to win the third flight with a net 57. In the event some new member did shoot a net 57, we also advise everyone that we can and will adjust handicaps retroactively when it is clear to us that a member's handicap does not accurately reflect their potential. We don't like to adjust things retroactively and in the 8 years I have chaired the Handicap Committee, we have only done it once. So here are the questions to the mob: Any ideas how to do this better? Any questions one might ask an unhandicapped individual to better estimate their index/handicap? Would it be reasonable to have a new player play once (or more?) without being eligible to place in the money?
