My Swing (Mulldog)

2 posts in this topic

I've been Playing Golf for: 6 years

My current handicap index or average score is: 5.1 ~76-80

My typical ball flight is: Mid - Low with slight draw, miss is a hook.

The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: Looking for a higher ball flight in my irons, my miss is either a slight block or low hook. Length is fine. Im only 5'8 and not trying to kid myself in keeping up with the long bombers, it wont happen.

I would appreciate any tips that people have taken on to produce higher flight..? I generally have a hunched back on setup.. Thanks for the help everyone!

Driver swing. I generally like my driver ball flight.

Iron Swing. Tends to come off low and skids through sometimes..

Hi welcome to the site. I wouldn't worry about the hunched back. To help you hit it higher and farther you need to use the ground more effectively, get more ballistic. To start to do that you have to change the alignment of the feet and knees at set-up. Your knees are rotated inward which inhibits the left knee's ability to gain flex. Check out this video, turn both feet out and rotate the knees out.

Set Up, pretty good.   Top of the backswing
Your head actually doesn't move that much off your original position Your whole lower body shifts laterally to the right. You can see that by the orange lines being your set up position and the blue line where your hips go. You sway a TON. Stop conning yourself here. This is hurting your golf game a ton. If you turn around your spine more then the yellow line will be more in it's original position at set up and this allows you to utilize your lower body more. This makes the swing more consistent and powerful.  Impact Position You do a decent job getting the left arm to be inline with the clubhead. You are all scrunched together because you lose your spine tilt towards the ball. Also your head shifts to the right a good 6-8 inches. This is because your lower body wants to reverse what it did at the top of the backswing. In the end that sway is causing your head to move around way too much and causing impact issues. It also saps you of power since you are not using your body correctly.  If you still don't think you sway then I am done here because you blatantly deny what's been show to happen.

Well, instead of asking a bunch of strangers about medical advice for a critical stabilizing joint, just wait until you consult the doctor. After you recover, this is a great book for the RC.  "The Seven Minute Rotator Cuff Solution"  I'd say only one of the recommended exercises in the different workouts has been modified in the last 20 years.  It has workouts for recovery, maintenance for fit and not so fit people, and for body builders. It a bunch of tiny muscles, it doesn't take much to keep them strong, but it also doesn't take much neglect for them to wane as well.

Up in the search box now, you can drop down where you want to search.  You can do the whole site, just that topic, or even that forum area. I like that it is combined now.

Because some of them are so F'd up in the head they shouldn't have weapons on them. It's not a knock on all veterans, but the ones that might think they are still at war. Until we do a better job understanding and treating PTSD and other mental damage done to our veterans those who are deemed to dangerous to themselves and others should not be allowed to own a weapon. The primary avenue for veterans to commit suicide is by firearms.

This goes into making sure everyone who has a gun has been tested to see if they are a danger to themselves or other people. If they are then they should not be allowed to own a weapon.
This is a stupid idea. You want to have political suicide then you support this idea. First, no democrat would want this because it supports gun use and expand the military. Second no person who hates government involvement and expansion in our lives would support this. A good amount of republicans to libertarians would not support this. Also, what if you have an accidental discharge of a weapon that kills a kid you are f'd. It will happen. A kid will get killed by an armed guard at some point. Then all hell will break lose and people would wonder why this was a good idea at all. If you want a way to kill even more support for those in the military go ahead with this idea.  Also, do you want to create anxiety at school? Honestly do you want to get kids used to having a totalitarian/dictator type concept of having military guards located in your public places? This sounds like something straight out of North Korea.

I don't mind expanding the concept of civil service or working for the national guard. In the end we should not be putting armed forces in our schools. One of the more stupid ideas to come across this form lately.
