I assume you still have a putter so putt, putt and putt some more.

I played the last 4 holes of a round last year including a 156 yard par 3 (that I hit in regulation) with nothing but a 5W and a putter because I was mad at my irons.

A couple of years ago one of my playing partners played the entire round with a hybrid he was trying out and a putter (just for the heck of it). He shot 2 over par.

Of course he can hit a hybrid as far as most fairly long hitters can hit a driver.

I bet your wife loves it when you are mad...

I played a round with my old clubs... They are 4° flat and a halk inch shorter than standard with whippy shafts. They also are about 15-20 yards shorter than any other iron I have used in the last 5 years... They also left shots to the right about 20 yards consistently... I guess it is time for a golf break.

Take a vacation from golf. Use the time you normally devote to practicing and playing to do something else you've always wanted to try.

I think I will just catch up around the house. I have been playing golf instead of working on things like I should. I need to work on some drills anyway.

Go to the gym and work out. This will add even more yardage to your new clubs. Upset your playing partners when they have to buy you lunch all the time.

I only see an upside...

Focus, connect and follow through!

So I picked up my new irons... They are really, really (really) nice. I think I fell in love with my 3 iron from the start... I will do a review later.

Did I mention that they are really nice?

But we've been told over and over (not here on the TST) how amateurs are supposed to get rid of 3 and 4 irons because we can't hit them well.  Be careful you aren't setting yourself up for emotional anguish...

Just kidding.. congrats on the new sticks!
