Check out Mariners Point in Foster City, just outside of SF right off the 101. Thats a pretty big driving range with grass and mats to hit from. The place is huge and even if you do really get into on

@Spyder I absolutely love how your attitude towards this whole topic has gone from 'you're a dumb liar' to 'you're just hitting like that because of your driver', completely ignoring my actual request which was to get some advice on a driving range. Don't know how many posts you have now man but I see none of them which is targeted towards anything other than making me look stupid and having you save face.

Furthermore - absolutely everything you have said suggests that the only thing that would happen if someone stuck a driver like mine in your hand is to get a good workout for once. If you don't swing harder than Bubba (which I seriously doubt considering how completely unbelievable you thought it was that I did) you have nothing to gain from a 5 degree driver unless you're hunting for mice. As much as I'd like to break out the math for you I'll save that for another time. Although to summarize - If you're happy with your drives using a 9.5 degree, 44.5'' driver and a Pro V1 you'd get about the same hang time as a pebble falling from a shoe if you used a 5 degree, 48'' XXX Stiff one.

I'm only speaking English as a second language so I'm sorry to have to tell you this, but perhaps you need to look into how to use quotation marks. Quoting and doing a very bad job at in a condescending manner paraphrasing someone are two different things. How you got to be listed as "forum leader" (FYI - there's a proper use of a quote) of anything but is beyond my understanding.

Thanks a lot for the advice Lihu, I'll be sure to try that one out! Regarding newtogolf, my normal swing is around 125-130mph (with any driver that I've tried) and I can push it just over 130 if speed is what I'm going for, those shots have about a 1/10 chance at best to be in play though haha. I can live without seeing where the ball lands, the main issue is that I don't want to risk hitting someone. I went to TPC Harding Park last weekend after being told that their range is 300 yards with trees behind it by someone in their golf shop over the phone. When I went there the actual range was 220 at best. There was a net and some trees but then there was the 18th fairway. I tried a drive and it was way over the net and over the 18th fairway behind the driving range. Someone who's a bit more selfish than myself might just think that **** it... I'll hit anyway but I wouldn't feel comfortable doing that. That's the whole reason I went on this forum in the first place but it's sort of turning into something else for some reason.

I think @Spyder 's mistake, like mine, is that he thought you were a golfer, when it's now clear that you're not.

Go hit golf balls all over the place and have fun.

I'm genuinely glad that you've found that other forum.

You'll likely find a lot of others like yourself there.  People who play golf once every 4 years but "guess" they have a single-digit handicap because they "hit it 380 on the simulator".

It is one heck of a driving range. 400+ yards of safe landing areas.

@Nick Sure that sounds cool. I'm not too knowledgable about neither the swing or golf in general really but it sounds like fun. At the eagle club place then I take it?

Sure, let's meet there maybe next week during the lunch hour.  I work on Montgomery St so can walk down there and hit balls at noon or after work on a Wednesday.  I'm looking to build a little league to play some virtual golf in the evenings, mainly for when it starts getting darker earlier in October through about March.  I'll take some video of your swing and we'll get a bunch of teaching pros to comment on it in a group I run for instructors on Facebook.

@mikeokslonger FYI Check out the driving Range in Alameda, (Chuck Corica Golf Complex) thats another nice sized range here in the Bay Area.

How could I forget? This is my home course and range.  It's not massive like Coyote Creek but should be able to handle your length and we have a brand new short game course where you can prove that your more than just a bomber!

What is the point of posting comments like these? So what if he hasn't played that much and is estimating his HC? He said he is getting into golf more and wants to play more, that is why he is looking for a place to practice that suits his distance.

      In August, I am playing the World Am in Myrtle Beach. I do not know which courses yet, but should be a blast. Aside from that, those are the only golf trip plans, unless I play while on vacation in Destin in June.

      Gained a Lot of Club Speed in a Couple of Days With the Same Effort. Try This Out!

      Even on a perfect center hit I was receiving at most 1.48 smash factor. 10 days ago on the warming up for a round my Driver made a weird sound, I checked the bottom and it was cracked. Don't know for how long it was cracked but at least this time the crack was easy visible. Maybe it was already cracked before but with a more subtle crack?.. don't know. I'm waiting for TaylorMade to approve the warranty and send me a new head. I was using the Stealth Plus, I will take the opportunity and upgrade it to the Qi10 LS paying the difference.  On Sunday with my old Titleist 915 and softer balls I was reaching 1.5, even 1.51 on center hits. Test didn't went well. Only gained 2..3 miles, not worth pursuing. Figured out that with a ball and with a target, my path was way to in to out with this new idea, so in order to move the club in the correct path I needed to slow down to redirect the club on the downswing or aim more to the right, close the face a play a big hook.. not possible. I already play a big draw with Driver, more curvature is unplayable. Yesterday at home, with no ball messed around with a more neutral path, even swinging a little out to in. It felt a lot more in sync with the body. With a big in to out path it feels like my hands are working right, away from the body, when the body is working to rotate to the left. With the path to the left is was easier to apply force thru the hitting zone.  As always tested 10 swings with my current swing (A), and 10 with this little out to in path(B).  The difference was huge, like 12 miles faster with swing (B). I knew something wasn't right. The fact was that the PRGR was aligned more in line with the (B) path so it of course was giving higher speeds. I proceeded to align it with the (A) path and tested again 5 more swings each. Again (B) was faster but only by 5 miles. (Made a tiny experiment moving the PRGR to a more extreme in to out path and the swings register 25/30% slower for both swings, so it wasn't reading properly at that angle) Finally I moved the PRGR in the middle of both paths, and this time (B) won by 9 miles. Off course, this was without a ball and a target so.. I will be hitting the range tomorrow to see the real difference.

      At Bent Tree, right? I'm surprised the greens were that slow. I played right around the corner at Northstar and their greens were normal speed. Slightly soft/receptive but not overly so and not slow or shaggy by any means.
