Top 3 choices are:

1. Phil (He's always the top contender)

2. Rory (Because of his distance if he pulls one, it's gonna end up in Northwest Kentucky somewhere)

3. Tiger (for obvious reasons)

I'm a little confused by this. Are the choices limited to these three players? Or are you picking three players who you think will hit awful shots?

Oh sorry.  Those are just my top 3 choices. You can choose whomever you think.

Well my next question is, how do you measure the worst shot? What if some random unknown pro hits the worst shot and it's not aired on TV?

Well obviously I mean a shot that we will all be able to see while watching the tv coverage. It could be a bad drive, snap hook into the water, topped ball or swing and a miss. We don't need to get too technical.  Just our own humble opinions about who hit the worst shot.  I personally think Phil is gonna try a big draw somewhere and it's gonna go dead straight or even fade. Rory is gonna SMASH a drive 345 that might snap hook and Tiger is definitely gonna put one OB somewhere if he plays.  I should have put Bubba in there also.

There will be club pros well out of their element who will hit worse shots than any which will be televised. This is a bogus question.

I guess if it's not

My god, is it really that serious? I mentioned above that I'm talking about shots that will be shown during the coverage. Why the %$#!% would I be talking about a shot that nobody will see?

I think these are valid questions considering the vagueness of your thread title. It's a very hard question to answer as there will be literally be over 20,000 shots taken in this tournament. Anywhere from the tee to the green. Tee shots, approaches, short game, putts, recovery shots, etc.

Someone will double-cross a snap-hook into the trees.

Someone will miss an 18-inch putt.

Someone will chunk a shot that won't clear a pond by 30 yards.

I have no earthly idea who will hit each.

You know that you wanted to say that each one would be either JD or TW

Okay. It will be Michael Block. Or one of the other list of club pros in the field. Since they will likely be affected by the pressure more than the tour pros.

    • I did not realize that, I was thinking a more traditional golf club.
    • Thanks for the feedback. @StuM, we are a "club without real estate" so no facilities or pro. We have a membership of around 185 players and we only play together as a group at our tournaments, which are held at public access courses. A group of us setup the tournaments, collect the money and dole out the prizes.
    • In general, granting free relief anywhere on the course isn't recommended.  Similarly, when marking GUR, the VSGA and MAPGA generally don't mark areas that are well away from the intended playing lines, no matter how poor the conditions.  If you hit it far enough offline, you don't necessarily deserve free relief.  And you don't have to damage clubs, take unplayable relief, take the stroke, and drop the ball in a better spot.
    • If it's not broken don't fix it. If you want to add grooves to it just because of looks that's your choice of course. Grooves are cut into putter faces to reduce skid, the roll faced putter is designed to do the same thing. I'm no expert but it seems counter productive to add grooves to the roll face. Maybe you can have it sand-blasted or something to clean up the face. Take a look at Tigers putter, its beat to hell but he still uses it.
    • I get trying to limit relief to the fairway, but how many roots do you typically find in the fairway? Our local rule allows for relief from roots & rocks anywhere on the course (that is in play). My home course has quite a few 100 year old oaks that separate the fairways. Lift and move the ball no closer to the hole. None of us want to damage clubs.
