Happy Thanksgiving! From @mvmac and I, we'd like to thank all of you for being such awesome members. We have TST because we like golf and golfers, so we wish you and yours the very best today. Thank you!
I have a 62 in the bag as a specialty club, gets me out of a lot of trouble. Those "sure-out" style sandwedges are a bad IMO because regular use could cause you to unlearn how to use the bounce properly. Watch this video from the bunker thread and throw in a 62 or hybrid instead.
Congratz! They are more forgiving than previously according to Titleist. If you get a choice of a shaft that fits you and your length and lie, it would be ideal.
I am not a good ball striker and use what are probably less forgiving irons. What most people do, and I've done is bag the irons that you can consistently hit well. If it's 7-PW, so be it, and get a couple of hybrids to cover. You can improve the swing and speed to implement the longer irons. The new Titleist hybrids are handsome.
While I can hit a 5i and 6i decently now, I get more distance and height (and conistency) from a hybrid. In fact, my 28 Hybrid is my favorite club (at the moment). Hope that helps.
