AND, saevel doesn't even capitalize his own user name.  So I'm going to mock him until my eyes water and my chest hurts

Shorty, you just had to go there didn't you!!!

F*CK, yeah I sure did forget the n't in that one.

See I got no problems being busted up on valid points. my argument was the invalid points that had nothing to do with this topic and now it seems we have all got off track on the point originally trying to be made about competitors helping out other competitors.

So to clarify, I post my opinion on rushing the final round and some of the bad calls made on putters which I stated was my opinion. get 4 or 5 replies on punctuation along with invalid points about drugs and players moving objects that shouldn't be moved and I'm in the wrong because they didn't like what I said and they brought up points that had nothing to do with what I said. I would try to explain it in a simpler form but I still think it would be too complex for a very select few readers. I hope this post wasn't too graphic for all our pg13 rated viewers. I don't think it is me that needs the thicker skin sir I'm pretty sure it is a few others that can't take a post that calls them out. For the most part every post I have read or been a part of on here I have found very friendly and helpful. I really could care less what people think of me and I had no idea that there were people that are able to play golf while still breast feeding. If my posts were too hardcore for such sensitive readers I apologize, next time I'll check the rating in the bottom corner to make sure I know what context to use. And yes I had no idea it was mandatory to use proper text because punctuation is clearly the most important part of the post. I guess if the point someone is trying to make really has no relevance then yes punctuation might be all they have to pick on.

It's your violent reaction that cracked me up and prompted me to pile on. Funny shit. But, the truth is, when a long post is written with no paragraphs, I seldom read it. No Offense meant, just havin some fun.

Okay, guys. I think we should get back on topic. There was a nice debate and mix of opinions before. @BrownCoast found his Shift and Enter keys (kidding... ) so let's call off the dogs and return to the a-holes arguing that Rory should have been made to wait until the next morning to finish up (kidding, sort of, again... ).

Let's see... 51 posts and you are already "calling out" respected members who have been posting civil responses to a lot of controversial topics for many years?

And yes, syntax and grammar can be important to getting your point across without resorting to profanity.  This isn't a texting service, it's a discussion forum.  If you want your posts read and taken seriously, then you can at least make the attempt.  Your last two posts have been nicely formatted, although the content is a bit rough.  Just take this as a learning experience and let's all try to get on a bit better.

So I just want to make sure I got this correct. Its the number of posts one makes not the merit of the actual post that makes one a "respected member". I can have 1 post 51 posts or 5001 posts, I'll call out someone when it seems a calling out is due.  My first reply in this thread was civil, just lacked punctuation and syntax because I thought the opinion was the actual point being read not the grammatical context to which I was being graded. Saddam Hussein ran a country for decades, pretty sure that didn't mean he was a good leader. But I get the point you are trying to make, you just didn't choose the best wording for it.

AGREED!!!

But I do believe that if both Phil and Rickie agreed to let Rory play up then thats cool. However for all I saw it didn't seem that way. Like I said originally would this topic exist if it was Tiger in the second to last grouping?

C'mon guys it was pretty fun taking shots back and forth. Kind of like if your buddy was putting for birdie and ends up with a bogey. You wouldn't let him get away with that and not say anything. Its all in fun. I have no hard feelings. I love trash talk.

I think it would have been unsportsmanlike and "wrong" to stall so that Rory either had to finish in the dark(er) or wait until tomorrow, but I'm less sure whether it would have been unsportsmanlike or "wrong" to decline to let them play up.

Just to stay on topic, at the end of the day (which it was), I think this was not about the competitors, but about the tournament administration.  They may have sought some input from Phil, Ricky, Rory and Bernd ("you guys okay with them hitting up?"  "you guys wanna keep going?"), but the call was theirs.  You can fault them for wanting to finish on Sunday, you can fault them for the confusion (though everybody was under the gun), you can speculate on how the players could have gamed it.  But at the end of the day (which it was), form prevailed.

Sorry :-P

The computer made me do it.

    • I've played Bali Hai, Bear's Best and Painted Desert. I enjoyed Bali Hai the most--course was in great shape, friendly staff and got paired in a great group. Bear's Best greens were very fast, didn't hold the ball well (I normally have enough spin to stop the ball after 1-2 hops).  The sand was different on many holes. Some were even dark sand (recreation of holes from Hawaii). Unfortunately I was single and paired with a local "member" who only played the front 9.  We were stuck behind a slow 4-some who wouldn't let me through even when the local left. Painted Desert was decent, just a bit far from the Strip where we were staying.

    • Honestly, unless there's something about that rough there that makes it abnormally penal or a lost ball likely, this might be the play. I don't know how the mystrategy cone works, but per LSW, you don't use every shot for your shot zones. In that scatter plot, you have no balls in the bunker, and 1 in the penalty area. The median outcome seems to be a 50 yard pitch. Even if you aren't great from 50 yards, you're better off there than in a fairway bunker or the penalty area on the right of the fairway. It could also be a strategy you keep in your back pocket if you need to make up ground. Maybe this is a higher average score with driver, but better chance at a birdie. Maybe you are hitting your driver well and feel comfortable with letting one rip.  I get not wanting to wait and not wanting to endanger people on the tee, but in a tournament, I think I value playing for score more than waiting. I don't value that over hurting people, but you can always yell fore 😆 Only thing I would say is I'm not sure whether that cone is the best representation of the strategy (see my comment above about LSW's shot zones). To me, it looks like a 4 iron where you're aiming closer to the bunker might be the play. You have a lot of shots out to the right and only a few to the left. Obviously, I don't know where you are aiming (and this is a limitation of MyStrategy), but it seems like most of your 4 iron shots are right. You have 2 in the bunker but aiming a bit closer to the bunker won't bring more of your shots into the bunker. It does bring a few away from the penalty area on the right.  This could also depend on how severe the penalties are for missing the green. Do you need to be closer to avoid issues around the green?  It's not a bad strategy to hit 6 iron off the tee, be in the fairway, and have 150ish in. I'm probably overthinking this.
