Bash other SPORTS, not teams.  Come on, get with the program!!!

Yeah but I'm still a Browns fan. If I say anything sucks I'll have to deal with the retort.

The only "sports" I don't care to ever watch are horseracing and car racing. In both, the "athlete" is the horse or the car, not the person riding. IMO.

IMO.

Agree with the second sentence, however, I (kinda) disagree with the first.  If you're talking about TV, then I kind of agree, but going to the horse races or car races live is pretty darn fun.  That is, as long as no people or horses die.

I've been to 2 or 3 NASCAR races, and although they drag out a lot longer than necessary (I'd prefer 40 or 50 laps instead of 200), the spectacle of the entire day is pretty darn cool.  It's something I'd recommend any sports fan do at least once.  I'll never forget the first few moments of the first race I went to.  When they started the engines, when they came by on the first pace lap, and especially when they came by on the first real lap.  It's un-freakin-believable how loud those cars are!  You also get to experience a very "interesting" crowd at a NASCAR race. :-P

To your point about the athlete:  The highlight of my horse-race attending career (I've only been a handful of times) was when a jockey got thrown off his horse right out of the gate and that horse came around to "win" the race without him.

NASCAR Sucks, I mean, you go around in an OVAL!!! I do enjoy watching Formula One racing on tracks you actually have to make right turns on!!

NBA Sucks because its just too long. Everyone whines in the NBA.

My friend and I joke about that as well.  It seems like nearly every game is close at some point in the fourth quarter.  It doesn't seem to matter if one team was winning by 20 points during the first half, they'll always find a way to make it close in the fourth quarter.  So, our question is ... why don't they just make the games 8 minutes long? :-P

I'll give you horse racing, because the individual horse and it's training have a lot to do with whether it will win or not, more so than choice of jockey. But, to be fair, we talk about horses that win races, not jockeys, so I think it's understood that the horse is the star. Car racing, though, I'm not sure I agree with that sentiment. Mostly because the limitations placed on vehicle design, components, and fuel, one team's car isn't really much different than another's. Cars tend to screw up only when people set them up wrong for the race conditions, or they make poor decisions on when to refuel and change tires, etc. The actual racing is absolutely done by the drivers; that's why the best guys are consistently on top from year to year.

Bash other SPORTS , not teams.  Come on, get with the program!!! :-P Cycling is pretty awful, if you ask me.  :)

Lol duh my bad I just saw sports and ran with it. I can't watch baseball at all. Unless the A's are in the playoffs. And even then I'm doing 10 other things while the game is on

I loved some of the super-in-depth racing sims I played on various consoles.

Didn't make me an athlete, and didn't make video game racing a sport.

I have a hard time calling it a sport when you're sitting there pissing yourself. It's undeniably difficult on your body and all that, but so are lots of other things that aren't sports.

Motocross and street bike racing are VERY physical and the people who ride those bikes are super fit. I'd consider them athletes.

Well, I don't think video game anything can qualify as a sport, but I get what you're saying.

As for sports, anything where the winner is determined by counting up numbers that a panel of judges raise in the air is not a sport in my book.

Not bashing it, but rugby is more entertaining to me than football. They can actually touch each other and stuff.

Cricket is a game I've never been able to understand, despite having it explained to me a bunch of times and actually playing, once.

Cricket: As explained to a foreigner...

You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out.
When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men have been out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

Huh? So, like, it's the same rules as dodgeball?

Precisely.

Can someone tell me why NFL players wear all the padding? What a bunch of wimps.

Ever seen the hits in Aussie Rules or Rugby League?

Your padded sissies wouldn't last 10 seconds.
