I love all sports, but football is by far my favorite so I choose the NFL. But NCAA football is superior to me for a number of reasons. The collegiate setting, the old traditions, and the idea that you play for a reason other than money. It makes the whole spirit of the game different.

Football is also special because it is rare and fleeting. On a given year, a million American boys will play high school football. Less than 10% of them will play at the college level, and that is ALL levels, not just Division 1. There are roughly 1600 players in the NFL. That means only 1.6% of all American boys who play football will ever play at that elite level. I figure the odds are pretty similar for playing major league baseball or basketball, but there is a difference. Every small town and city in American has recreational sports leagues that allow men to play softball and basketball competitively until they drop dead. Football isn't like that.

And baseball isn't boring! What's wrong with you people?

Never been a fan of NFL as I grew up with Rugby. Too much stopping in NFL for me......no flow.

NFL over NBA, but NFL isn't my favorite by far, much prefer NCAA basketball, then NCAA football, then NFL.  Through the years I've lost interest in the NFL, if you would have asked me 20 years ago I would have said NFL, hands down was my favorite.  If only I would have had a little insight, but my college buddies and I started a fantasy football league when we were in college in the late 70's, if only I would have known then what I know today!

Between the 2, NFL is preferable, although I'm not a devoted fan and sometimes the excitement level is pretty low. I'll follow my favourite team (Buffalo Bills) and watch if there is an interesting match up between 2 good teams. As for the NBA, it was pretty cool when the Raptors were in the playoffs last year and I did watch a few of their games, but generally I find the NBA a tad on the boring side until they get to the last few minutes of the game.

I like watching football more than basketball. In fact, I don't really start watching any NBA games until the conference championships. The NBA, as far as just sitting down, and watching it on TV, ranks way down the list with soccer, hockey, and golf.

I do like watching Australian Rules Football, and I will watch some of the match ups of MLB.

    • Eh. He broke ONE of Tiger's records. Youngest to be ranked #1 in AJGA. It didn't help that Tiger's birthday is in late December, or that Tiger didn't play many AJGA events before he was 15. Did he do any of these things? TIGER WOODS' AMATEUR VICTORIES YEAR WIN(S) 1984 10-and- under Junior World Golf Championships Boys    1985 10-and- under Junior World Golf Championships Boys    1988 Boy's 11-12 Junior World Golf Championships   1989 Boy's 13-14 Junior World Golf Championships   1990 Boy's 13-14 Junior World Golf Championships, Insurance Youth Golf Classic   1991 U.S. Junior Amateur, Boys 15–17 Junior World Golf Championships, Orange Bowl International Junior Look at some other AJGA Players of the Year. How many of these names do you recognize? A few, for sure. I assure y'all, I'm not trying to pee in your Cheerios. I just don't get what the point is. Okay. I get that, then. Thanks.
    • Day 56: 4/19/2024 Okay, even though I'll be teeing it up in a tournament in less than a week. I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
    • Just stumbled onto the article.  Totally random and thought it might be interested to hear other thoughts. maybe I am tired of all the LIV crap and  this just caught my attention.
    • Day 1: Spent some time hitting some balls. Working on my hips and a “soft” and straight trail arm.
    • Slight digression on the way to my point. Back in the day there were a lot of people who said that Tiger won because of “the Tiger effect” where people pushed too hard and made mistakes trying to catch him and fell by the wayside. I thought that was BS. It was just that he was that much better than them. I don’t think anything has changed my mind on that.    The hype about Miles Russell is very limited. I’ve seen nothing about him outside of some fairly hardcore golf websites. But I think that the reason those people are talking about him is because he is very good. Same as Tiger. And like I said he just broke one of Tiger’s records. That gets hardcore golf fans to pay attention.
