My name is John

I was hoping to come on here and join in with some golf talk and see if I could connect with some like minded golf enthusiasts.

But unfortunately I started my round and only got a few holes in before I was disqualified on a technicality.

So I am having to start my round again now, but I really fear for going into the sand trap on the first hole in case I get stuck in there and not being able to continue. This has spoiled my enjoyment of this course and I am struggling now to find the fun again of playing in this competition.

Perhaps some fellow players can steer me on and encourage with some good course planning advise for the second hole?

Here's your tip: we are not giving you free advertising. That's not a technicality. If you want to talk about golf, cool. Happy to have you. If you want to talk about your commercial products or interests, you can pay as little as $399 for year for that.

Post around in a variety of threads with helpful, humorous, or otherwise useful posts and you'll be plenty well off.

For the record. I never asked for free advertising. I asked a genuine request to contact people like myself to offer a genuine opportunity as a small part of my introduction. My post was deleted. Fair enough. I would very much like to pay for advertiusing in the future. But as I continue to be attacked for one small mistake rather than be welcomed and corrected then I feel that this is now very unlikely. This make me very sad :(

Sounds like you posted somewhere else in a manor that as similar to advertising a product, or service. In doing so you are indeed asking for free advertisement since the forum has rules and fees for those who want to advertise on this forum. Doesn't matter if you ask or not.

If you can't take straight forward honesty then that is a you problem. If you find that actually upholding the rulesf or people who to want to advertise on this forum as an attack then that is a you problem. it is no way an attack.

That's promotion, advertising, marketing, etc. I don't care what you call it - that's not allowed. I don't particularly like it when people lie. "I never asked for free advertising" is just that.

The truth is not an "attack."

You said elsewhere that TST was once small and had to grow. You're right. We did this by spending a lot of time and effort building the site. We didn't do it by piggybacking on the hard work of others.

      Day 56: 4/19/2024 Okay, even though I'll be teeing it up in a tournament in less than a week. I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
