On Monday, I played a rather hard course for my respective style of play. I don't have an official handicap but if I had to guess, I'd say it's probably around 13-15. Anyways, I shot 95 on that course from the middle tees. Today, I went out to boost some confidence at a course I'm very familiar with and shot my best ever 79. A 16 stroke difference in consecutive rounds got me thinking, "I wonder if anyone else has had a larger gap." So, has anyone else had as significant a difference in scoring in consecutive rounds like I recently experienced?

Um, the other night I shot an 84 and then I went out today on a different course and got stuck behind a fence on the first hole after a beautiful tee shot that hit a cart path and landed in a cement hard bunker.....took a 10 on the first hole. Shot the worst round I've shot in 10 years...a 100.

On 6/2/15, I shot 102 (champion tee, morning) followed by 78 (men's tee, afternoon).

Forget about consecutive rounds, I once shot 46-33 for one round in a tournament.

To my recollection, the exact same as yours.  But I shot the 79 first.

75/85/76 on two different courses, a day a part on each of them. The 85 was on a course I was not familiar with. The other two on a course I frequently play. Most of the lost/gained shots were on/around the greens. If I am not familiar with the greens, my scores will go up.

I once shot 55-40. As to the OT, I'm not really sure. Probably not much more than 10 strokes apart, really.

In several years during early-season play, I had a difference of a dozen strokes or more.

I've played so much golf over the decades that it's impossible for me to remember the largest score differential between two rounds, but I know it's HUGE.  I've played great/terrible on many consecutive days so I know it's a big number.   It could be 69-87 kind of big!!! (a stroke a hole) .....but I tend to block the bad scores from memory so it's hard to say!  LOL

I do remember my best/worst nine hole scores for a single round.............. 51/35....on a 36-36-par72 course.  This was 15yrs ago when I was an 8'ish HC............I caught a case of the shanks on the outward nine and shanked several irons into the abyss, but got dialed-in coming home.   What a crazy round of golf that was!!!!
