Does anyone have trouble getting down to get the ball out of the hole or a hazard. Doesn't anyone get annoyed when they have to get their ball out of a hole filled with water? If so do you think that the putter ad ons can be improved - such as using a grabber shaped to pick up a ball from the hole and potential hazards? A reply would be much appreciated Thanks:-)

I wish more people would just put one of these things on the putter grip if it's either too difficult or they are just too damn lazy too bend over and reach in the cup, pisses me off something huge when some lazy a**h*** puts the putter head in the cup and pull it out cause I have seen these dorks damage the edge of the cup.

Not really, but out here where I golf, there always the chance that some creepy, crawling critter is in the hole with the ball.

Alright Captain Spam-o, how about giving us all a break from your "I'm inventing a piece of junk that's already been invented" posts. Thanks.

The suction cup device in the pic above are all that is necessary if you are old, decrepit, or just have issues bending down.  Nothing more is required.  I personally do not use them but i have purchased more than one and given them guys I have seen tearing up holes with the putter head pulling the ball out.  Geez, I hate seeing someone use the putter head to get a ball out of the hole.  It is not a matter of are they going to damage the hole...it is just a matter of when...they will.

I tried 2 of the ones in that picture. First one was fine for a few rounds then kept falling off and eventually it got lost. I replaced it and used some extra adhesive before adding it to the grip. That lasted a few more rounds until it again kept falling off. I went to a fat grip on the putter and then switched to the one with the screw on the back end that fastens into the hole on the grip. That lasted a little while and then kept falling off. By that time of the season my back was loosened up a bit so I just gave up on them. It was a helpful relief early in the season so I will probably be trying something else early next season.

Someone mentioned they knew a guy that makes something by hand. Some type of metal rod that is twisted on the end that goes into the grip and then is formed in a circle for the picking up end. I haven't researched it yet so don't have any links or info.

The one thing I do despise is when a golfer uses the putter head to try to scoop the ball out of the hole. Just the fact you can tear up the hole for other golfers is very inconsiderate.

Got my father one of these, he has a tough time bending down into the cup these days.  He found the suction cup annoying, he said he could feel it rubbing on his wrist.  He loves this thing, folds nicely out of the way.

I went with this little beauty. http://www.hornegolf.com/Golf-Ball-Pick-Up-Halo-Halo.htm Goes in and out relatively easy, You can order a clip to hang the putter on the outside of the bag as well. It holds on while using the pushcart or riding a golfcart. Although, I don't really NEED the clip since my putter slot is big enough to put it in with the Halo in place, it's just easier having it hanging outside. Don't really go all out with all the fiddly thing you can do with it. Just get the ball out of the hole or waters edge(if it isn't too deep), and maybe get started picking up the flag or clubs lying on the green.

That's the one I heard about. I couldn't remember then name until I went to the site. Now I remember the guy saying it was Horne golf. Thanks. I will have to give it a try next season.

No matter how bad my knee's or back ever get. When I can no longer reach down and get the ball out of the hole with my fingers. I will no longer play golf.

Seriously? That's not very inspiring or manly. You have people playing when they can no longer walk (no legs) or who only have 1 arm or no arms. There is a local young kid who plays despite being blind. Earlier this week I played with a guy who can barely see and he had a mini seizure on the 10th hole. He manned up and kept playing. You are going to let a little thing like 'bad' knees or back stop you from doing something you love? Sheeesh. If you don't love the game that much then why not give it up now?

I would think for most the use of these devices is not because they can't get the ball out of the hole with their fingers. They use it because it relieves the stress of using their fingers to get the ball out of the hole.

Man up! Overcome, adapt.

P.S. Ketchup makes hot dogs taste better.
