Stupid dummy rule Thanks

It prevents someone from completely reversing or deleting everything they said in their OP. If you want to clarify something, just put it in a post later in the thread.

I understand but just as I did most QUOTE the thread there's a history and if someone wants to delete what they said why not it's their thread isn't it. Or maybe the threads once posted are no longer yours.

You know this constant control over what people say inhibits true discussion and will end in fewer membership if you ask me but who's asking me:)

It's not about control, it's about consistency and maintaining the integrity of the thread.

Being the OP doesn't give you ownership of the thread. It just means you started a conversation.

Because responses can come quickly in a thread. If you delete a post then it looks stupid because now context is out of place in the discussion.

There isn't constant control. Just own up to what you say. If you make a mistake then correct it later.
