I heard about it a long time ago and it sounds like a lot of fun.  I have a couple of questions.

#1  I know you Ante for every hole. But do you make the first round of bets before or after the tee shots?

#2  How do you track the chips...  Using actual poker chips would be a mess on the golf course.

Thanks in advance for your input.

I know of a game like this but it's different. Everyone puts say $20 in the pot, then you go golf. Then at the end of the round you look at your scores and for every par you get 1 card, birdie 2, eagle 3(you can use handicaps). Everyone gets the cards based on how they play and try to make the best poker hand and who ever does wins the pot. Its nice because you get a better chance to have a good hand the better you play, but people could play like crap and just luck out with the cards.

Hey, welcome to the board!!

I saw something like this played once on one of those short features that play when ESPN broadcasts the World Series of Poker.  A lot of the pro poker players are also golfers (and in some cases, hustlers) and it was interesting to watch.  If I was into gambling at all I think I would enjoy trying this golf/poker hybrid game out.

Since it was on TV they didn't get into any of the logistics of how they track the bets.  As to the betting, I would think you wouldn't want to have a round of betting before the tee shots.  It would be like asking players to bet on a poker hand before they can look at their hole cards.  The ante IS the pre-play bet.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

    • Yea Club Rat said it. I really enjoyed the Senator and the Judge, then over to Grand National where there a couple good courses plus a fun par 3. The one I do play whenever I visit there is Ross Bridge; something about this course that is just good fun. I hope to play more of the courses in the future, but tomorrow is promised to no one, so hope is the key word. Have Fun, iSank

    • Eh. He broke ONE of Tiger's records. Youngest to be ranked #1 in AJGA. It didn't help that Tiger's birthday is in late December, or that Tiger didn't play many AJGA events before he was 15. Did he do any of these things? How many of these names do you recognize? A few, for sure. I assure y'all, I'm not trying to pee in your Cheerios. I just don't get what the point is. Okay. I get that, then. Thanks.
    • Day 56: 4/19/2024 Okay, even though I'll be teeing it up in a tournament in less than a week. I couldn't find time to get to the range today.  I spent time on the indoor putting mat.  And I spent time in front of the mirror with my 7 iron. Then again later with the driver.  I also thoroughly cleaned all my clubs.
