Wouldn't it be nice if we could find on the net a place where the top 20 ranked golfers in the world are listed, maybe in a grid, along with the next 10 world class tournaments and their known intention to participate?

Well, here is part of it, the list of the players by rank.

The part about where they will play is not really doable because players do not have to commit very far in advance.

Welcome to the board!!

But then again, what the hell do I know?

Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

Now if we can just get the Ryder Cup qualifications to go off the OWGR and not tournaments played on the European Tour.  It would make the Euro Tour fall even a little further below the talent level of the PGA tour but it would make it fair for guys like Rory, Rosie, and others.

Thanks for the kind welcome, Turtleback.

I'm aware of the world ranking system. I'd be happy with knowing commitments over only the coming month. There doesn't seem to be an effort to inform fans of upcoming appearances. You'd think that the promotion of golf tours as a product would be something the commissioners of the tours would be working on rather than putting the burden of promotion on the individual tournament sponsors. Perhaps they fear that appearances at tournaments could become too competitive and lead to appearance fees.

Ncarlsongolf:

Totally agree. The future success of these team events will partially hinge on the fans' perception that they are watching the best and that there's an easy way to choose a side to root for. If you allow golfers living in the US to play for their country of origin, as long as they're highly ranked, fans will accept the rationale, just as they do at the World Cup in soccer.
