Lamkin Justin Rose (Less Tapered) Grip with Tungsten Counterweight of 17.5g.

Yes, I'm going to buy a few and give them a shot. I have balance certified weights - a bit more sophisticated than a plain weight in the back of the grip. It consistents of a 6-inch rod inserted into the grip or into the shaft (before grip install)  with weights at the end of the rod. I like the extra weight in a wedge, especially in the SW and LW.

When I tried the Secret Grip, a couple years ago, I didn't have the swing to take advantage of this. Now, I might give it a try. Totally the opposite end effect of using steel shafts in my drivers for working out.

This grips is lighter than the Secret Grip (less weight - which I think is good for most), and while the price of the Secret Grip has decreased, the Lamkin is still less expensive, and has less taper, which I enjoy. I have the Justin Rose  grip with less taper in my wedges.

My concern would be how it effects the swing weights.

@Mr. Desmond I'll be curious to hear how much lighter the club head feels.

It will affect the measured swing weight. But since the grip is surrounded by your hands, I have found, as well as others who have installed similar counterweights in their irons, that it does not (seem to) affect play. I think the only way to measure the effect correctly is having a Flightscope or Trackman as your friend, or if you have a consistent swing, whether it affects consistency.

I have a long (5-6 inch) CB weight installed inside the grip on wedges and it gives me a heftier feel, which I want in my wedges. I can use a lighter steel (95g) shaft but still have heft in my hands for a smoother transition. It works for me, especially in the LW on flops.
