How long, on average, does it take you to play 9 (if you're not playing behind someone)?

(Note: I'm new here and did a search for an existing thread on this but came back with nothing specific. Excuse me if there's one I couldn't find.)

Are you carting or walking?? And are you playing good that day??

I play a average 9 carting in a little 1 1/2 hours if I walk, I would guess around an hour-ish if I cart and hitting well...as in play ready golf and no bs.

Good (and obvious) question.... I should have specified. I was thinking carting when I posted.

I usually can do it in about an hour with a cart.

90 minutes walking single. But now with the new rules, probably 2 hrs since I'll be hitting more than one ball for practice in some situations.

For me it averages out to about 3 minutes per shot. Shooting a 40 for 9 holes is going to be around 2 hours when I walk. This assuming I dont get held up. In a cart, by myself, probably around 90 minutes. Maybe a little less.  I going with a 6600 yard course with these numbers. A 7000+ yard course would most likely take me longer.

Actually, I never worry how long it takes tp play 9 or18. I have my own pace I play at, which of course is too fast for some, and too slow for others.

It all depends. If I'm by myself with no one in front of me on a lovely day I can get around in 1:30 hours at the most.

In a medal competition it can easily 've 2 hours plus!

Just remember golf is a marathon, not a sprint. Far too many people feel agrieved when they have to wait an extra 10 seconds to play these days!

Just under 2 hours when I play in the early morning, but I usually drop an extra ball or two on approach shots to the green when noone is coming up behind me. I always walk and carry my clubs for the extra calorie burn.

My group ... 1:30 - 1:45 on average if we have a clear view in front of us.

Playing alone in a cart it would be under an hour without even trying to hurry.  That would just be my normal pace.  This is an estimate because I almost never play alone on an empty course.

A few years ago a buddy and I played together on a nearly empty course and each had his own cart.  We played 18 in a little under 2 hours and never felt like we were rushed.

In a cart? 45 minutes.

Walking, an hour and fifteen.

Same. Under an hour, 45minutes seems about right for a relatively flat course with cart. The fastest I've fast walked Altadena GC with just a 6i and no partners and no one ahead of me was about half an hour and shot 43 using rushed putting as an excuse. . . I don't accurately time myself.

Somewhere in the 1 hour range.  I never just play 9 holes, but if the course is open, we'll get around 18 in 2:15ish without rushing.

I'd agree with most of the other responses, in that it shouldn't take any more than 90 minutes or so.

If I have a cart, it usually takes me about 60-80 minutes depending on how well I play (if I have to rake bunkers, look for a ball, line up multiple long putts, etc.).

If I am walking it usually takes me about 80-100 minutes, again depending on how well I play.

Golf goes pretty quick when you're playing alone on an empty course. Just walk to your ball, go through your routine (which should itself be only 20-30 seconds), and hit it before repeating the process. If I shoot 72 and I spend 30 seconds on each shot, that's 36 minutes just spend focusing on my shots, and the rest of the time is spent traveling to and from each shot (or using the restroom).
