Here's the first installment of the 2006 Hittin' the Links column.
Hello everyone, I'm back. I hope everyone had a great holiday and that santa was good to you all. Can you believe the PGA Tour is getting ready to open the 2006 season? Me either.
I don't have a lot to say, but look for some good links in the upcoming year.
Hole 1: Golfing Green
Are you a treehugger? Here's a solar powered golf bag. Although I do consider myself an environmentalist, this isn't for me. It's a bit space-aged looking. [link]
Hole 2: Computter. Get it!?
This is a putter with an LCD screen and mini-computer that measures swing speed, trajectory (why?) among other things. [link]
Hole 3: Night Golf
Here's a golf ball for those nights when you're dying to play. When I was in high school, my friends and I would have killed for something like this. The "old" glow-in-the-dark balls were never that easy to find. [link]
Hole 4: Scramble Dream
I would love one of these in any of the scrambles I play throughout a year. My only question is, does this count as one of your 14 clubs in the bag? If so, it'd be well worth it. [link]
Hole 5: Golf Course = Toilet?
I've refrained from commenting on this for a while now. Mostly because I didn't want to put my foot in my mouth. But I think this is a little over the top. Who cares if guys pee on a tree? I don't really see the big deal. When nature calls, I, unlike women, have the ability to pee wherever I see fit. It's not like I'm peeing on the 18th green. [link]

There's not a lot to say about this link. Like them, I just wanted to link to the picture. It's an oldy but goody. [link]
Hole 7: Threat Down
Does anyone know how to get in touch with Stephen Colbert's people? This would make an incredible story for a threat down for "The Colbert Report". "And threat number 1…Bears!" [link]
Hole 8: Thinking of Dads
I know it's early but book mark or del.icio.us this as an idea for fathers day. A bit cheesy? Yes, but what's worse a cheesy present or no present? [link]
Hole 9: Mr. Cool
This article is hilarious. What was even funnier was watching the clip that was replayed on the Golf Channel about a million times this weekend. [link]
