Nice job on the blog.

Tiger is the greatest and never fails to come up with what's needed, it seems. I guess he didn't on 72 last year, so it's not all the time, but I've never seen an athlete make it happen as often as Tiger.

Let's not forget, though, the breaks this guy got. He drove the ball more than 50 yards right and left of the fairway on multiple occasions, and made eagles, birdies, and pars on most of these occasions. His double bogeys were, ironically, on lesser misses, where he caught the heavy, non-trampled rough. But it's a bit of a bitter pill to swallow for Rocco to have Tiger drive it 50 yards right into an adjoining fairway bunker and not make a bogey.

But Rocco had the tournament under his control, more than once. He birdies 17 or 18 Sunday, he wins. He birdies 18 Monday, he wins. But he didn't .

So now we know why Tiger is Tiger, and why Rocco is Rocco.

Congratulations to both men for a great tournament, and a tip of the hat to the USGA for a wonderfully conceived and executed tournament.

Thanks for the great chronology of this US Open classic...
Both Tiger and Rocko demonstrated what staying in the Now is all about. Rocko's mannerisms and body language told me while he understood the magnitude of the moment, he could watch it from a place inside a laugh. As Tiger was walking toward the the green on the first playoff hole, I believe his focus was the space between his breaths. Tiger is the champion of not allowing the past and the future to consume him for very long. This moment, right now is all we have and all we ever have.

Thanks, Erik.
It was tremendous following your blog when I couldn't watch on TV.
Certainly one of the greatest playoffs of all time.
Both Tiger and Rocco were awesome.
Let's hope the Open returns to Torrey Pines soon!

Congrats to Tiger on the great victory. Compared to his other 13 wins, he played pretty poorly this week (C Game at best). However, he is Tiger for a reason, and he never gives up. This one wasn't his prettiest, but it was probably his gutsiest.

Incredible stuff. Rocco had his chances and didn't necessarily deserve to lose, but Tiger didn't deserve to lose either.
