Sweet Repeat: Phil Mickelson Captures his Second Masters

Phil Mickelson won his third major thanks to his superior and unchallenged play.
Well, Phil Mickelson finally knows how to close out in majors. Gone is the swashbuckling Phil of old, swapped out for a new safe-playing nearly bogey-less model. Phil was unwavering down the stretch at the Masters, playing nearly flawless golf on the way to his third career and second consecutive major. Speaking of the second consecutive major, there has been much talk of a Phil Slam with him having to win only two more majors in order to match a feat only Tiger has achieved. However, Lefty claims that hasn't even entered his mind as he plays one shot at a time.
Phil's finally turned around his 0-42 record in majors, his game finally clicking under pressure. With this victory he is 3-9 in the last nine majors, a number which trumps even Tigers record in those nine. It appears Phil is making up for some serious lost time.
By day's end Tiger was slipping the green jacket over Lefty's shoulders, the traditional gesture made more stinging because of Tiger's inability to get the job done coming home on Sunday, missing two eagle putts within 15 feet and three putting another green. No sir, Sunday was Phil's day the superior golf he played was unrivaled by any of his fellow competitors. Thanks to his unrivaled performance, Master's TV ratings have dropped and talk has sparked in regards to the difficulty of the closing holes.
Lefty did it his way, a very changed player from two years ago. His poise and confidence coming down the stretch was impeccable and his play was superior.
