Pros: Comfortable, elastic waistband, plenty of room in the thigh, cool in hot weather, fit remained after washing.
Cons: Pocket in back could be a bit wider to fit scorecard holder.
AVEO Big & Tall Golf provided clothing for review at The Sand Trap. The company describes their apparel as, "
I first wore these pants to work. They are stylish and very comfortable. Other than a small stitched logo near the left front pocket, you would guess these are typical slacks for work. The material does make a slight "swoosh" noise while walking, similar to other dry fit material. But I didn't really notice it much.
Next, I played 9 holes, walking, on a 60 degree day. It was humid and slightly drizzling at times. Other than worrying about the leg bottoms getting muddy, I didn't notice the pants much, which is good news. You want clothing to fit and stay in place while you play. When you have to constantly adjust or pull up your pants, or if they have the heavy, clammy feeling of wet cloth, it becomes bothersome. The pants did not accumulate moisture from the air or sweat during the round.
My only complaint is the back pockets. They are made without buttons, which is fine for golf. But the width was just barely enough to fit my scorecard holder and AimPoint chart, which I keep in my back right pocket. The pocket should be 1/2" to 1" wider, to make it easy to put items in.
After washing, the material did not wrinkle and looked like new.
I would recommend these pants for the Big & Tall golfer. While I am not really big or tall, I like the design of these pants. How Jack Nicklaus could play in those tight, polyester pants in the 1970s, I will never know. I want my pants to be stylish, but also comfortable for an athletic sport like golf.
These pants are available at Golfsmith.
