Pros: Nice Layout with some challenging areas. Fairways were in nice condition. Friendly staff. High quality used ProV1 balls available at the Pro Shop.

Cons: Greens were in poor condition. Very bumpy with dead areas.

We hit this course at first light   It demands some accuracy off the tee, but the opening few hole were a bit more forgiving which helps when you tee off a dawn.  A foursome let us play through and we flew through the round in 3:15 taking our time as a twosome.

Yardage book - they had a nice booklet available at the Pro shop.  It showed distance to hazards and markers off the tee.

Warm Up - Grass driving range available, but we had to hit off mats  Nicely maintained.  Two level putting green and they allow pitching and chipping.

Tees - Nicely maintained and generally flat.  Granite markers showing the hazards.

Greens - Poor condition.  If we were up north I would say that the grass had a blight or some insect issue.  It may be the winter grass was dying off and the spring/summer grass had not grown in yet.  They were running about 8, but very bumpy and the ball did not roll true

Rough - Some odd grass I was not familiar with. It did not look like Bermuda as it was scrubby and flat.  But it was difficult to pitch and chip out of because it would catch the club face.

Fairways - Nicely maintained with some interesting features that forced layup to avoid creeks and other hazard features..

Sand - Fluffy yet playable.

Overall layout - Lovely layout with some semi-island green in a quiet development area.  We only saw home on a few holes and they were set back..

Views - Lots of Osprey, turkey vultures, cranes and herons and other critters like turtles and fish.  Some fire ant areas, but they were not that active.

Staff - Friendly and welcoming.

Club House - Bar and Restaurant were decent.

Rates - It gets cheaper if you are a resident.

Overall - I was disappointed in the greens.  I would play again if I knew why the greens were this way and they were better.
