Pros: Long from nearly every tee, good driving range, course in good shape, good staff
Cons: Not the best sand trap practice area, lack of rough, greens can be a little bare in the summer
I've lived and played at the course for the last ten years, playing hundreds of rounds upon it, and it's enjoyability has never wavered. I've played a bunch of the Canongate family, and this is easily my favorite, or at worst, 1b.
Both good and not so good golfers would enjoy this course; though it can be long, the rough is forgiving, and mostly you have a tee shot into the green even if your tee shot is off line. The only thing that irks me a bit is that the short game area is lacking a bit; I wish it was bigger, and that the bunker play area was more comprehensive and taken care of. But the staff is always friendly, the pro is of good character, and the maintenance staff does a really strong job.
