Pros: Nice rates, Nice range, Great course to play
Cons: older carts, could use more sand traps.
This is a rather nice course in York county Pa. It is a classic late 1950s layout with it being 6623 yards from the blue tees. They do have a small pro shop with everything you would need to get for your outing. The bar area is a bit small an dated but very good service and good food as well. There cart fleet is gas carts that are a bit older but in very nice shape. They have a putting green that is FREE to the public. Yes you do not need to pay for round of golf or even range balls. The range they have is a very nice setup. The mats are a bit used but other things really stand out. The mats are under some large willow trees that provide great shade from the hot midday sun and it is lined on both sides by large pines. All the balls are high visibility yellow and the range is marked well and has chipping targets. The course itself is a very nice layout. The tee boxes and fairways seem to be some kind of a blue grass mix that is very lush and easy to hit off of. The grounds are taken good care of. The course does not have a full cart path there are parts that you must drive on the grass. As for hazards there are some stream crossings and a pond on the course. Sand traps are far and few between not a ton of them on this course. The greens are very nice if I had to take a guess at them they are about a # 10-11 for speed. One of my favorite holes on the course is the par 3 #14. It is an elevated tee box I would have to say it is about 50-60 feet higher than the green and hitting over a stream to a 2 tier green. I think the wildest part of this hole is the cart path to get from the tee box to the green. It zig zags descending down to the green through thick brush and trees. There have been a few times that I thought I was going to have to bail out of the cart to save my life. All in all I think this is a well-rounded course for this area of Pennsylvania. Rates great during the week at $28.00 with cart and Fair on the weekend at $42.00. Of course on the weekends in the am it does get backed up sometimes with slow play but that is about the norm in this area of Pennsylvania. This is my go to in the area and love this place.
