Fantastic GPS Unit

Pros: Great accuracy and course coverage

Cons: I wish it was rechargeable

It works incredibly well for me and I haven't found a course in my area yet that isn't in the most recent version of the software. My only complaint is that it goes through batteries too easily and isn't rechargeable. That should be standard on a device that costs this much.

Excellent Tool

Pros: Easy to use, no after purchase costs

Cons: None so far

I replaced my 2 year old GolfLogix with the Garmin Approach G5.  The G5 gives much more information than the GolfLogix - I've yet to find it wanting in that regard.  The first thing I did when I got it home was log on to the Garmin website and update the maps and software at no charge.  The latest maps include details like the locations of significant trees, as well as all hazards and bunkers.  The G5 is accurate, the interface is easy to use.  If you want to keep score and track stats, it does that seamlessly too.  Even though it's a bit pricier than some (mine was a display model at Dick's, so I got it for a 10% discount), the ease of use, detailed hole...

A Little Heavy On The Up Front Cost But Worth It

Posted

Pros: Very easy to use, distances seem very accurate, ability to pick spots you want to land to get accurate yardages.

Cons: Purchase Price of $350 seems a little stiff but then you don't have to pay monthly/yearly fees or buy courses.

Gave me everything I want in an easy to use interface. Would recomend to anyone looking for a GPS.

Great Piece of Equipment

Posted

Pros: Pin-pointing distances, distances to hazards, bunkers, front, back, middle of greens. Pin point hole locations on greens

Cons: Pin pointing is not as smooth as I would like.

This baby rocks!   I find it to be very accurate. Don't need prisms to shoot lasers or worry about keeping a steady hand with a laser finder. You get what you pay for! No more pesky branches in your way, trees, obstructions, etc. Decent on batteries, I usually get three rounds from each set of Duracell AA's, not yet tried Lithium, expect it to last much, much longer. Great color LCD display, easy too see in sunlight.
