Great golf to go with an exceptional experience.
Pros: Great Course, Clubhouse and service. Nice range and practice area with seperate tees.
Cons: A little pricey and can't order alcohol unless a member.
Stone Harbor Golf Club, which is located in Cape May County, NJ is a private golf course. You can play rounds if not a member for around $125-$150 in the peak season. It cost $4,600 per year to be a "full" member.
The course has 5 tee boxes with the course tipping out at just under 7000 yards. Its a Par 72 with a course rating of 73.9 and a slope of 139. There are 11 holes with water coming into play, highlighted by the 6th hole that has an island fairway that requires you to walk across a bridge (there is a bailout fairway left that's safer but adds distance to your approach) and the par 3 7th that has very elevated tees to an island green.
It's a beautiful layout that has a lot of man made hills on both tees and greens. South jersey is a very flat area but this course almost makes you feel like you're somewhere else. Very neat.
The clubhouse is great aswell. It's 2 stories that has a wonderful pro shop, equipped with any and everything a golfer would need. From sets of clubs to drivers, balls, putters, cigar selections, sunglasses and all other apparel. There is also a wonderful dining area on the second floor. Great food and an area outside that overlooks the 18th green, which is surrounded by a large lake. Downstairs is a world class locker room that has a seating area to watch tv and smoke a nice cigar, lockers, showers and even a shoe cleaning service.
This is a great golf course and anyone locally or on vacation would do themselfs a favor by teeing it up here. As long as the price doesn't matter.
