Pros: white non glare crown, great feel, easy at adress, ajustable
Cons: alot of money
It was a long wait but finaly i got my R11 TP 3wd. So i took it straight to the range and course.
First of all i think this club just looks great, and that is not just because of the white finish, it's the shape that gives alot of confidence.
What is also nice at adress you can't see all the technology behind the club, from the top this is just a well shaped 3 wd.
I didn't make any ajustments on this club ( my driver has an open soleplate )
On the range i was going trough my clubs as i normaly would do ( 54 wedge, 9 iron, 7 iron, 5 iron, 3 iron )
I can tell you i was exited like a little boy to finaly get the wood out,
I was on the range with some friends and our head pro was just chatting a little with us.
He was like Tom are you gay using a white clubface ( i ones told him that the all white driver off Ian Poulter looked a bit gay, well in his hands it kind of does ) He is a Ping guy so he didn't like my 3wd much.
I hit the first balls of the deck and starting to get the feel of the club and shaft, and i was nailing them in to the net at the back of our range ( on 230 yrd there is a 6 mtr high net ) i was totaly happy with it, the pro liked the way i hit it also.
I gave him the wood to give it a go. His first shot, the ball started low like a punch shot, but the ball was climbing up in the air and was going and going, the ball ended up against the top pipe of the net, i was amazed just as much as he did, that must have been a carry to about 260 yrd with 3 wd.
I can only do that with well struck drivers.
This club by far is the best fairway wood taylormade has made ever. the shape the colour the ajustablity this is just a great club. For me this shaft is perfect also, it changes my ballflight from a ballooning one into a much stronger flight
