The Country Club at Silver Springs Shores

Pros: Great shape, interesting course

Cons: Greens had just been aerated

I played this course this past Saturday with my dad while visiting for father's day.  Probably the nicest course I've played in the Ocala area so far, though the Golf Club of Ocala is right up there with it when it comes to condition and is just a shade less expensive.  Very interesting course with some great choices to make.  The Par 4 third gives you the option of cutting the water to go straight for the green. For the moment I highly advise against this as there is a nesting gator living on the hole and the area to the right of the green (nearest the water) is roped off. The gator recently chased someone off the green, so better to just lay up and take a nice wedge into the green, staying as far from the right as possible, lol.  The greens had recently been aerated so the conditions weren't great, but even so these greens were pretty quick.  Had they been in better shape they probably would have been like lightning.

While we never saw a drink cart (finished just shy of noon), they did have a girl (a VERY cute one mind) on the 5th or 6th (Par 3) taking sucker bets on whether or not you would hit the green.  $10 that you got back in gift certificate form if you missed and got back as a $20 gift certificate if you made it.  Overall I would easily play this course again.
