I received my TORC the other night and was immediately impressed by the nice little bag it comes in. Smart to have a hook so I can hang it right on the side of my bag. Since receiving it I've used it 3 times now:
The first time, I used it at the range that night. I put it on the end of the club and used it as a warm up tool. I normally swing a couple of clubs together in a lazy manner about 30 times or so until I feel loose. I do a few "windmills" with each arm with those clubs as well as some light stretching. I used the TORC on the end of 5 iron for this instead. The weight felt just right for the warm up session.
Second, I used it in the same manner at the course the next day. Once again, I felt very comfortable with it and I really liked that I could grip the club normally as I did my warm up swings.
The third time I used it was at the range again last night. After warming up, I then hit a few balls with a wedge (no TORC) and made sure the swing felt ok. Then I decided to try actually hitting some balls with the TORC attached. First I used it at the end of the wedge to hit 5 balls. The shots were ok - I really tried focus on the ball and solid contact and not the big grey thing on the end of the club. I then took it off and hit 5 balls without the TORC. The "groove" of my swing felt really great. It felt really easy to swing lightly with everything connected and produce good distance. I then repeated that procedure with the TORC in the same positions Hank Haney recommends in the YouTube videos. This went well with the wedge, but when I switched to a 7 iron I wasn't able to reproduce the easy results. I feel a larger sample size in order though, as it seemed my back really tightened up at that point and I wasn't hitting very good in any capacity (maybe I didn't warm up very well, ha ha).
I would say the bottom line for me is that the TORC seems like a quality device that will most likely stay on my bag. I'll continue to use it for warming up and try the other positions as well.
